Shes gone abit green in the last few months, but shes all complete and orginal bar the front lights and the wheels, the wheels were orginally split rims with rubber intertubes fitted by the RAF in the 60s but needed replacing as they had rotted away. As i say ill be hopefully doing a full rebuild this summer, money permitting and will post updates for all those that are interested

Nice pics - she could do with a cover on or a clean. hehe

Will be awesome to rebuild, do keep us posted, dont imagine it will be cheap tho especially if you are going to try and keep as many original parts as possible.

Good luck! :)

agreed, I'd love to have something like that to rebuild when I'm bored in the summer...... all original of course....

is it old enough to be tax exempt?

yer it is indeed tax exempt, also its that old it doesnt need seatbelts, hazard warning lights, rear fog lamps and wing mirrors. And in a crash the steeringwheel collapses and the steering column tends to spear whoever is driving at the time which is nice :(

The reason why it will make such a good project is that the chassis is completely rot free as it was stored in the back of the bodyshop at our garage for years and years just gathering dust (about an inch) its only been outside for about 3 years and most of the rust if just surface rust.

Like the colour coded Fabia front, and the Cupra splitter

Landies - always  and that looks like it'll be a perfect project, look forward to hearing about progress.

I'm tempted by the grille, I must say :)

Have you got any more pictures of the car?

Cheers,

Steve

Cheers,

Steve

Yeah, Xenons - they're bloody brilliant  - I've got some main beam upgrades planned too, in the shape of the new Philips X-treme bulbs. Just need to get round to fitting them - should end up with a pretty decent lighting setup then

Put the grill in a big tub full of undiluted bleach. (think i used domestos) for a few days to eat the chrome off. then shot blasted the residue off.

the most expensive part for me was the paint as i already have a compressor and gun.

Cost me around
