PMSL That post was a classic, I wonder if the OAP in question is a here on Brisky.:rofl::rofl:

1.2 Clio that is what he gets for driving French Rubbish.

Re: A little peeved off!

was it this guy?

I can just hear it now...

"I don't believe it! Bloody French tin cans all over the roads, why don't they litter in their own bloody country instead of coming over here and selling their bloody washing machines on wheels to every spotty oink that will buy one. Eat soot you Biactol swilling yoof!"

That said ;) the guy that was driving the Clio still kept his cool, knew the limits of his car 'vs' the vRS, and IMHO was rightly annoyed...

I used to have a similar problem when I drove the Rover 100, no power to overtake either in that thing...

(that said I'm quite happy with the vRS :D :D :D)

I think even a 182 would've struggled.....not from a performance aspect but as soon as he'd have booted it to overtake, various body panels would've started to peel away, like the front wings......and the bonnet. Then the electrics would've failed......

You'd end up with a panel-less car screaming past you with it's hazards on and it's wipers going full pelt. :D

Shame really as they're fantastic little hot hatches. Quick, nimble, well priced.

Just......French.

Funny post this.:)

 I wondered what is was i saw the other day, now i know!

At last...I'm famous!!

I wondered what that lad was doing behind me?

I get so annoyed with young lads thinking they can drive.

Putting on your fog lights and barging the mature members of the road out of the way...Disgusting!!

I expect hell grow up one day....or be dead!!

So was Victor doing 40 in a 40 - if so what's the problem?

I do 30 in a 30, 40 in a 40. :):)

Just don't ask about 70 :D:D

It's when I see them doing 40 in a 30, 40 in a 40, 40 in a 60......40 in a 70......

Happens a lot round our area. Grrr.

Sad thing is, most chicks that drive Clio's are proper honeys. You can't beat a bit of Clio Crumpet. Rarrr.

Yup, they do that round 'ere too. Braking through Flatts Lane going down a hill doing 30 in a 60, then when they hit the 30 zone they are doing 40. About 20-30 meters away there is a 20 zone, and they are doing 30-35 in it  Really annoys me

Edit* looking at that forum its a bit bitchy, Im soooo glad to be in the warmy matureness of Briskoda *HUGS*

Exactly... go above 60mph in a Clio and there is a great risk that the bonnet catch fails, flipping the bonnet up into the screen and causing a LOT of damage! (True!)

I don't get why anyone would accelerate once someone's trying to overtake them though? If someone wants to go faster than me I just let them. My mate's mrs came home shaking the other day because someone pulled this stunt on her twice on some clear road (she also has a slow car :D) and ended up nearly being assaulted by the person in front when they stopped at the next junction.

I would rate this type of driving up there with tailgating and middle lane hogging.

Agree with Jason entirely! A chap at work went to overtake a car doing 40mph in a NSL which then sped up as he got alongside it. (Foolishly) the guy from work tried to out-accelerate him as they rapidly approached a limited visibility bend and was greeted by a car coming the other way at 60mph, with nowhere for him to go. I hate to think what the combined impact speed was, but he was pretty lucky to walk away from it. The limit has since been dropped to 50mph.

Oh, and the chap who'd sped up? He just drove off

What a total ****. That's bang out of order. People like that need to try it on with someone they can't handle and then see what happens when they hop out of their car at the next junction.

I hope she was ok?

I hope she was ok?

Shook up, but she's a tough old thing. OK, not old, but tough! Canadian/Philipino cross. Lethal hybrid. :D

vRS driver sounds like a tw*t. end of. :thumbdwn:

Unless someones in something severely rapid, speeding up when I'm trying to pass doesn't work. If need be I'll take the beast up to 105 in 3rd

nothing more annoying than anyone going below the speed limit!

vrs driver sounds like a bit of an ***.

even if im already doing the speed limit and someone wants to overtake me i'll let them, normally even slow down a touch once they've started the manouvre. no point in being childish about it

Must admit it would take a fairly sorted vRS to keep mine behind if that was tried on me - but then I wouldn't be very impressed.

That said andy has pretty much summed up how I'd feel about someone driving like that (in any car for that matter ;)).

You don't speed up whilst being overtaken.

agreed.

Highway code says: if someone wishes to overtake, let them..... (in fact be as good as you can to make it safe for them..)

I always let people overtake me if they wish..... even if they are in a 1.2 clio :) guess I've grown out of my "No f***ers getting past me" teenage stage ;)

I always let people overtake me, although on A and B roads, it only ever seems to be bikes that want to

surely only on the straight... a breaking zone or a corner and they've had it ;)
