Given the housing for the main Handsfree Module fits under the passenger seat, I assume at least one of the part numbers needs to change for a RHD car...

No, for RHD cars partnumbers are the same, because in your case main unit mounts under driver seat.

Ah, ok.

So, just need a guide price from VRStu now....

Mine is on order and I'm looking forward to fitting it.

Great pictures Andrey, thanks very much.

As for a GB - It's possible but probably better to wait until I have installed mine to be sure.

I think this module does control a cradle as well if required, the cradles are limiting though.

Interesting to note the soundproofing in the pillar on yours Andrey, mine doesn't have it but I know SMWBO's Audi does.

the cradles are limiting though.
Yes, as discussed in a couple of other threads, very limiting.

I'm interested in this too. I already have the MF wheel..

One question - I have airbags in my pillars. I guess that's going to make installing the microphone a bit tricky?

I think it means you have to be more careful with both how you route the cable, and how you approach the whole job.

I have they too. It is not a problem to remove trim because side airbag fit to car body, not to the trim. You can see airbag on my pic - it is white. You need carefully route the cable upper then airbag and all will be ok.

could possibly be tempted with this dependant upon full price etc ......

any idea of a rough cost????

This is an excellent 'how to...' thanks! :-) The way it works with the maxidot is very nice!

I'm also interested (dependant on cost), couple of questions though.

Are the pieces of trim easy enough to remove and fit back on correctly?

Will all bluetooth phones be compatible with the basic call functions and is there a list anywhere of the mobile phones compatible with ALL features?

Ta,

Ross

There is a compatibility list floating around on SCN I think. In general I think most SE and Moto phones are ok, some Nokia's won't share the phone book but this can be overcome by using a friends SE to load your phonebook in.

Yes. The main problew for me was to remove radio head unit frame.. Uffff, it was not easy...

At the bottom of a message you can see picture for removing pillar trim. Sorry for russian - I hope everything is clear without words :) Shortly - remove little trim -4- with AIRBAG word by flat screwdriver, then remove screw -3- (Torx) and pull the trim

The basic functions - yes. But transfer of a phonebook - not all. Simbian-based modern Nokia - NOT! And it is not depend of retrofitted or factory installed system you have. The same **** is with BMW, Toyota, Audi etc factory phone systems.

Stu, unfortanelly you are wrong about transfering a phonebook from other mobile. I tried it - system not shown the recently transfered phonebook when you connecting with another mobile even you are use the same SIN-card :(

That's a shame, I remember reading on SCN that they'd managed to get it working, perhaps it depends on the firmware revision of the BT Module.

...or coding. Another idea is that Nokia always transfer clear phonebook and erase all data, that was transmit before. I will try to remove all syncronization application from my mobile and check it.

And what is SCN?

SCN - seatcupra.net

One thing I notice in the pictures - the side of the central tunnel had been removed (presumably to allow easy access to run the cables from the under seat location to behind the radio.

How easy is it to remove this panel - I know there is a torx screw in the footwell, but what else is needed to remove it? I could neaten up some wiring if this is easily removed...

Not looking good for the N series Nokias then. I hope the N95 will work because I really need to fit this system to my Octy:)

Im looking forward to hearing the price, oh and I am sitting down in preparation:D

It won't work with the N95 either. For phone book transfer with the N series you either need a "proper" Nokia car kit, or a Parrot car kit - these appear to be the only ones that support the transfer of the phone book, and then only be virtue of an application that runs on the phone and allows you to transfer the whole phone book when you feel it needs updating - no auto sync like you'll get with most other phones.

Whether it's a fault of the OS, the car kit, or the Bluetooth spec I don't know, but it's unlikely to work any time soon.

Parts for the proper kit are pretty expensive. I have priced it up, not sure how upto date these prices are, and a couple of parts were not listed.

Thats why I have fitted a nokia CK7W fitted to mine, integrated into the headunit for sound output.

I am about to ditch the Nokia Mic though, and install the OEM Mic in the interior light to tidy up the install some more. Will still see the Nokia cradle, for my company phone though.
