I think your right

The items are available for a lot less than that - When I know the full cost of mine and that it works I'll let everyone know.

Looking at figures quoted in Euro would equate roughly to

My parts are being shipped tomorrow so fingers crossed they'll be here this week - Unless Parcel Farce get involved.

So, if we are talking roughly

The reason "all nicely integrated" has a lot of meanings

1. No additional microphone, speaker, display, buttons etc

2. For controlling the device you use usual buttons of board computer or on steering wheel.

And you forgot nice quality of sound. I used Nokia CK7W before and it was more poor quality.

About price of original parts - I found a place, where it is cost more less than dealers price ;) And I said about it to VRStu, after I checked it on myself (i.e. my parts succesfully arrived and correctly worked). may be we will share this information here, we will think about it, is not it, Stu? ;)

For me the $1,000,000 question is - Does the bluetooth upgrade require MaxiDot ?

I do so hope not...

TallioN - I updated my list a little. As for price, I don't mind if the supplier is public knowledge or not, chances are I would use VRStu anyway.

No Waiting - I can't see how the Bluetooth could work without Maxidot, as it uses the Maxidot display to, err, well, display stuff...

I guess then this is one option I can only dream of.... Unless, let me think, retrofit maxidot first

Positive thinking - I like that ;)

The prices certainly aren't top secret but what I don't want to do is get everyone excited before we are ready. I also need to make sure that there will be a reliable supply available - I don't want people losing money based on any recomendations I have made.

The immediate hurdle is to overcome the wiring issues and to ensure it is done professionally and correctly. There is also a small amount of recoding to be dealt with, but again not insurmountable.

What I aim to do is put together an install guide for everyone in the usual fashion.

I would love to be able to answer the maxidot question but in short I just don't know. It looks like it is possible to get a Maxidot upgrade, again I'll make everyone aware of the details in due course.

If it comes off and everyone is in agreement I would be tempted to try and do a bulk order for the obvious benifits of pricing and shipping charges.

Count me in if the maxi dot upgrade comes off, I really would like that, and the bluetooth will save me worrying about the break ins round here for sat navs. No wires hopefully no reason to try :-)

Are you just taunting Steve :P

No, I think it's safe to say Steve has managed overcome his need for MaxiDot.

I might be interested in replacing the non-maxidot cluster with a maxidot one too. I have worked out the part number needed for my 2.0 TDi, guess I am waiting to see if anyone else tries it first.

Hi Mannyo,

I've been looking to get this done as well (I do love my toys). Did you have the part number for the Maxi dot? I'd be interested in this.

Cheers,

Martin

Not sure if anyone knows the price of the new maxi-dot Cluster on an Octi II 2.0TDi, But i've just got a quote of

I was told that in order to get the deal on my car it would have to be one already "in the system" which meant no maxi-dot if I wanted blue. As soon as maxi-dot is sorted for a retro fit, I'll be buying it!!!

Good news - Got my bluetooth in and working last night.

I'll sort out some details and pictures as soon as I can.

Well done STu - Im very interested in this mod.

Had a look at this today in Stu's car and must say that it's a very impressive bit of kit and one to add to the list of 'must haves'. Why ithe Bluetooth Kit is not an option on the car in the first place heaven only knows

nice one stu, looking forward to seeing the prices to see if I can actually afford one!
