I saw this beastie today @ BVAC Car Show , Thirlstane Castle , Lauder , Scottish Borders.

Its a Tatra 613 , Aircooled 2.5 Litre V8 , Made in Czech. One of the coolest 4 door saloons ever made , although not as pretty as the previous 603 model. The 613 reminds me slightly (From the front , anyways!!) of a bigger , 4 door VW 412!!:)

Nice. i like old cars.

oh that is an odd big beastie.....

Very nice example.

Did they have a petrol heated cooling system? Or was that an earlier model?

I'm not sure about the petrol heater (like an Ebaspacher? (sp)) I didn't see any evidence of one. The engine in it is well back tho , its more mid than rear engined , most of the weight is directly on the rear suspension turrets , reckon its less likely to chuck you in a ditch than an early 911 or Chevrolet Corvair!

Yep, Ebaspacher or Webasto? :)

Very good pictures are there any other interesting pictures from the car show you can put up? Thanks.

I've been lucky enough to have a short ride in friend's Tatra T603.

Best sounding petrol engine ever!

Hopefully no-one will mind this little link .....
