I got one last time round as did a few others on here and the general opinion is they are a great gadget:thumbup:

The offer rolls out tomorrow so if you want one be prepared to get up bright and early as they sell out quite quick too. ;)

That is good advice - they had one with laptop computers and they all sold out within 10 minutes of opening!

do these detect the vans etc, at the side of the road trying to gun you?

They don't actually detect anything. They use a GPS database of known locations to warn you of actual and known mobile sites.

I recently purchased a Talex at an incredible price, from VRSTU's Fabia website. Have a look there..

How much for the updates?

Some info here - they (not Talex official site but agent that usually has better offers) had a 'promo' on recently so (as registered user) got 15 months for 12 months (I think it was

Cheers Val, might look into getting one :)

any mod making a profit on the back of this site should either resign or give the proceeds to colin.

As a by the bye, Len

I queried some local cameras (via email) with Talex.

They replied within hours, reported that the 'cameras' were not Home Office Approved and therefore could not 'prosecute' you.

Another camera I reported they said had not been activated due to local resident's complaints.

Though based in South, they really seem to know their stuff.

That’s encouraging, nothing worse than out of date data.

AFAIK he's not advertising Talex on this site only on his own site... what's the problem with that ?

Also, and in any event, I reckon Stu puts far more back into this site than some people, he gives a lot of good advice & he's not just a mod but a Freedom Member also (ie he's already helping to contribute financially to the upkeep of this site).

As someone else said ... are you feeling bitter about something ?

I'm mucho impressed with Talex, I've got two units one in each car & they really work well !

I think they actually came top of an Autocar test of GPS camera warning systems....well worth the money !

Not that it was any concern of yours Paul - The Talex is no longer available from my website, so I won't be making profits from the members of this forum. I couldn't help but notice your Freedom membership apears to have lapsed, pity you don't have the same feelings about supporting Briskoda that you think I should have.

Just to clarify the point regarding profit - there wasn't any to be made, I was selling the Talex at well below the RRP for the benefit of others.

I will proabably be selling them on ebay but they have to be more expensive to cover the fees.

Feeling bitter about something?

nope.

nope.
