Featured Replies

Went to look at the new Honda 2.2 diesel Civic Type S GT today. (Recommendation from a mate)

All I can say is that I was blown away. What a car!! Very well made, looks great, drives great and the interior!! Unbelievable! Been offered a deal that I might not be able to refuse.

BTW

If I do take the plunge

1. I will stay a member here!

2. Will have MANY bits for sale

Strut brace

Rear arb

Chrome handles

Green Cotton filter

PD160 inlet pipe

Roof bars

A few bits n pieces

What do you all think. Is it a no brainer or am I making a mistake?

depends on the deal they've offered you! sounds good from what you've said.

I love the new shape civic. only 1 insurance group higher than the fabia vrs.

always followed the 2.2 civic in topgear magazine, they had one in the "lifers" section. seemed to get a good write up. cant really go wrong with honda, as alot of people will say.

would have loved one, but was just too expensive for me!

I say go for it

If you like it ... go for it, personally i not sure on the general styling yet but im am warming to them after a recent trip in my mates Type R. Wont you miss not having a wonderful Skoda. hehe

Thegavsters chopped in his Fabia vRS for a Civic 2.2 diesel and loves it :D The futuristic styling inside and out isn't to my taste, but if it isn't a problem for you, I think it would make an excellent buy!

Yes I will but but I need some more space + the reliability, comfort and build quality of the Honda are better.

If I do buy, Ive made a lot of friends herein the forum and on 'meets', so I will hopefully still be active!!;)

I will have a few 'mods' for sale too!!

I changed brandfs and I'm still here and going to the meets ;)

the honda is a nice car, I would have considered it if I could afford it.... but my fiat was

Another Skoda enthusiast converted to a Honda.. :D

Very good choice :D

I thought Honda were only for "old" people..... :)

I have had a Honda and it was a brill car Chris, enjoy mate :)

Congrats, and pleased that I can relieve you of a few parts too :D You haven't got the 312mm brakes as well have you?! :P

Is it the 3 or 5dr you've gone for? If I could get over the rear and 3/4 visibility, I'd be very tempted for a future car. Build quality seemed excellent.

Steve

wish they sold the diesel here :thumbdwn: - but 2 weeks in and I am loving my Civic so far  . The sport suspension is a bit firm and "jiggely" but other than that is a great car. Get some pix us ASAP :D

No Diesel in Ireland??

How are you liking it in general? My wife is worried about reversing already. Dont get the car for a couple of weeks

Nice one , I love the shape of the new Civic , especially the 3 door! They are certainly the best looking car Honda has made in years , as far as I'm concerned.

I just found it really restricted on the one I'd been in (1.8 Sport 5dr).

If parking sensors are an option "get them". With the way VAT works here in Ireland - anything 2L or over pays a higher rate, and Honda say the price of the diesel 2.2 would be to high to sell if they brought it in here :thumbdwn: .

Other than that am enjoying the car, engine needs to be worked hard to get the best from it, but is very flexablle when taking it easy - will pull from 30 in 6th no prob but not in any great rush:rofl: , and have got over 47mpg on a run so cant complain about economy:thumbup:

Pix of mine can be seen here - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/general-car-chat/another-bye-bye-skoda/80700/#post935030
