More often than not, its down to the driver :P

OK, so not a 'technical' answer...

i get about 42.5-47 but only had my 05 for 1 month

what's wrong with mine then? I can't get over 47mpg and that's with 90% driving with CC on motorway at no more than 80m/hr...

I use CC on dual carriageways and adding Millers Diesel Sport gets me 47-53mpg per tank.

We've just got Shell V-Power Diesel so I'm going to fill up on that for 5 tanks and see if it makes any difference - it should do as I ran my previous car on the petrol version and got an extra 3-4mpg.

If you do lots of stop-start driving and heavy acceleration you won't do well with mpg - but accelerate lightly and drive at a constant 56-68mph and you should hit 50mpg no problem.

some people just have a very heavy right foot :D

mines 56plate and done 8500miles, once i drove from birmingham back to south wales, my computer said i was averaging 72mpg i was doing 60mph all the way, but come on sounds abit wrong doesn't it or not?!

Sounds fair enough.

Computer figures are always a bit optimistic.
