Highest bhp'd Octy I know of is the test car at JBS which was running 600bhp last time it was tested. That's running a GT35 on a 1.9.

My cars currently only around 440bhp.

I believe those figures would be the highest for an Octavia. It's just a shame these cars are not on show for everyone else to see, say like JKM's rolling road day. That would shut the doubting Toms up wouldn't it.

wouldnt shut the doubting Paul's up.

Where abouts is JKM?

And from another angle, what of torque figures?

500ftlb and 370ftlb respectively.

250miles each way for an RR day! :rubchin:

I'm almost tempted to pay your petrol myself, would LOVE to see you come along to this

Any chance some one answering my questions rather than organising a trip to a RR day ?

theres a lot more bs than bhp going on sadly.

I believe there are some staying the night before, check out the link above.

Oh, and I think Eddy has answered the question about who's got the biggest. ;)

Got to hand it to James for his quest for more power. :orb_not_w Don't suppose he will bring his car down will he.

I doubt it's very practical myself as I think it has to run a lot of boost to achieve those figures, I've never been in the car in that tune though. The fact he has has an Evo FQ340 as a daily driver probably says alot though! He does it purely to see what can be done rather than to actually drive it IMHO. Not sure he'll take it any further though as I think their efforts will be concentrated on the 1.8T engined Elise which will be running a GT40 AFAIK.

I find my car very driveable and do use it everyday for commuting etc.. However as far as big bhp 1.8T's go I'd consider it fairly average as there are plenty out there with more bhp.

Average!!.....Not on Briskoda as the first post mentions.

Thankfully I don't use the car at all now so how it drives is not really an issue. Running lots of power through the front wheels does tend to sharpen the responses some what. I tend to like the power to come in fairly aggressively. not to everyone's taste. Given the way the power comes in I'd say I am at the limit of the vRS, any more and it would be a nightmare to drive.

I hope my new engine set up is in place before the RR day as the car and rollers don't mix.

I also like the power to come in with a kick, afterall what's the point if it doesn't feel fast.

Have you tried a high RPM launch yet.

Pardon my ignorance on such matters, but how the hell do you get those sort of bhp figures from a VAG 1.8T Unit?

I appreciate that big turbo, upgraded injectors and upgraded everything else can get you to around the 350-400bhp mark, but 600bhp

I think you have hit the nail on the head, its all down to what you really want in a car or what you get off on. I did my second Cannonball & spent a lot of time with Ian in the Supra, a mere 600 bhp, at the time my Octy was tweaked by Jabba to a some what less 225 bhp. no contest some would say. In the twisties of Andora the Supra was a waste of space, I ran rings round it. On the French Motorways the Octy was tailing off at 130, OK it went on to 150+, The Supra went to 200+ but how often do you find clear open roads where silly speeds are achievable. Its all down to what you want. My previous car was an Imported tweaked Impreza, floor it, wait for the turbo to catch up & then bang a big kick, on paper loads of power but a pain in the **** to drive quickly. My Octy has been tweaked by Jabba to around 350 bhp but the spread of power is massive making it a very drveable car, OK on the run into Italy on last years Furball I was beatyen by Pauls Ferrari after the Skud tailed of at a GPS recrded 170 & he touched 180 but hey ho, he paid many tens ot thousands more for the fezzer but maybe its worth that just for the sound. What Im trying to say is purelly bhp means fook all. Ive just bought a BMW M3 CS for a daily hack. similar bhp to my Skoda but only RWD so the Octy with 350 bhp & 4wd will be the better fun car far more useable

And still no one has answered my questions. What a fecking waste of a thread

What you getting all worked up for? I can see answers to your questions in the information given above

Eddy's probably got the highest BHP Briskodian Octy.

Cost - he might not want to disclose, but you could try a PM

Route - a fairly well documented thread on his Octy's progress resides on this very forum, IIRC.

And breathe...

Steve

Why do you get so uptight when your questions have been answered?

1. Who on the board has the most power? EddyH

2. How much

Re cost if it helps calm you down, as well as the Engine mods there will be suspension upgrades, stronger clutches,Gearboxes,Diffs, Better brakes, tyres,Exhaust,Intercooler, etc etc. From Scratch If you can glean the right answers to the questions of how to do it from those who have & not need to do your own development I would guess 15 -20 K should cover it.

Well, there are quite a few people on this site pushing 250 plus bhp I was hoping for a run down of what each person did to get there,

but no I get the thread high jacked by a discussion of going to a RR session.
