Hi All,

Getting a new Octavia vRS on Saturday... just can't wait. I smiled so much through the test drive the top of my head nearly fell off! :)

:) That's what a guy in the office keeps telling me! I don't want to humiliate his TT too much.... hmmmm There's an idea.

Cheers for the warm welcome

Hi. Got mine monday night. Running in now :( Last night went on a round trip of 85 miles or so. Ave mpg 38.2. Im pleased with that but look forward to using it a little more :D

Hey Jostman,

That's cool. How many miles does it take to run in? My Golf (company car) needed 600 miles so this should be similar. Should rack up a few miles collecting the car and driving it from north of Birmingham down to the Thames Valley.

Enjoy

Hi Steve.

Dealer said to keep below 3000 rpm for 1000 miles. Handbook says not to exceed 75% of max. speed in first 600 miles. I've only done 150 so far:(

Couldn't you find a dealer nearer to you, or did you get a good deal?

Have fun

John

Welcome to the forum Steve, you will enjoy the octy vRS, but I can almost say it wont stay standard for long. I dont think there are to many standard vRS owners left on the forum.

Keep an eye out for SkodiRS's group buy discounts on remaps.

I got a good deal (I think) that saved me a fair amount through a recommendation. I'll have to see how long I can('t) resist before getting a remap..

Well, considering the octy hits the limiter in 5th at 171mph iirc, that means that at 75% max speed, you're still doing about 128mph :D

Oh, and 3000rpm. Hmm, don't know what that equates too, but I'm, sure it's more than the legal limit in the UK ;) Still I suppose it's when the turbo really gets going so it can be rather difficult to resist
