Milltek louder when warm?

Featured Replies

I'm sure my milltek is louder when it's warm (after 10 minutes or so). Am I going mad?

Could be something to do with heat expansion (maybe)

or you are going mad

The miltek I had on my old vRS expanded quiet a bit when it was hot, so yes its possible the expansion is causing the louder soundtrack.

Hey i'm a thermo engineer or something now.......who-hoo

Yep, sounds right to me, my Blueflame is louder after a 30 minute or so run.

I would have thought the opposite was true. Listening to a loud soundtrack for a prolonged period is likely to cause deafness. Therefore, the longer the listening period the quieter the exhaust note appears.

I love it.... Mrs Phil doesn't

Oh dear sad to hear it. Will it be a standard one for the foreseeable or are you after another stainless?

I think Milltek are about the closest to standard (sound wise) you can get so it looks like I'm stuck with standard :(

Does a CAT back give any sort of power increase with a standard CAT and downpipe still in place?

Buy her an ipod :)

Or a gag

just forget to take it off :D

Just stay that because the Milltek is different, the old system had to be 'cut off', and it would be very expensive to re-fit as it would need a new standard system due to where the cut was made!

Worth a try:thumbup:

So she puts up with ur car being coverd in stickers and standing out like a sore thumb but not a little louder zorst
