Fabia VRS v Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi Guys Im new to this site so bear with me. I'e been a Skoda owner since 1990 and worked my way through nearly all the models. My favourite has been my Yellow Fabia VRs. However after being convinced by my hubbie to trade up and get a new Octavia VRS this March im in mourning for my Fabia. The Octavia is faster, sportier, more comfortable and can really shift when it wants, but I miss my Fabia, am I normal ? I miss really throwing it about and burning away from lights. Im feeling slightly dissapointed and regretting the swap. Is it a case that it will take time and I've just got to get used it ?:(

hi. and welcome skoda girl... im sure you will get used to it.. remember octys a tad heavier.. if your not happy with the performance.. REMAPP.. lol :D

Welcome to Briskoda.

As a Fabia vRS driver, i love my car, even as standard. I would like to give an Octavia vRS a try but having sat in one, i wouldn't personally see the point in getting one unless i had a wife and kids to run about but until that time, the Fabia fits my mates in well, so i'll be sticking with that for the time being.

Doesn't really answer your question but hey, i've typed it now!!!:rofl:

Welcome to Briskoda

A new female member to briskoda.... let the leg humping commence!

I upgraded from the old Favorit that I learned to drive in to a Fabia vrs and I still miss my mold favorit lots (his name was Vlad)

I ended up running him into the ground, have 106k on the clock when the gearbox/clutch packed in completely.

Enjoy the site!

Hi Skoda Girl.

In deference to the tradition that EE aludes to, are you cute? ;) Oh yeah and :wrthless: :D

Like you and EE, I still miss some of my old cars too.

:naughty: Well Hello :naughty: :rofl::D

We have both the furb and the octy 2 on the drive and i must admit i prefer the furb most of the time :o

Joint first. Double leg.

hello and welcome, agree about the octy i got vrid of mine to get back in a fabia vrs cos its more fun:D

Given that she's already said she's married I think the humping is unlikely

seeing as how im married aswell then i doubt it too.

its called humour:P

Given that she's already said she's married ...

How does this stop her being cute? ;)

You guys are all sick!! (that's a compliment btw..) Is that the way to welcome a lady to the forum? (oh it is? ok....)

Welcome to Brisk - and hope you get used to the octy. Reason I chose the fabia vRS was that it's small, fairly light and therefore fun to drive. Sure you can get a bigger/faster car but the whole fun thing is about the perceived sensation of speed and flinging it about. Had to give up riding a motorbike 7 years ago (way too dangerous out here!) so the furby (or Fuburu as E-E calls it) is a decent substitute...

Probably made you feel worse, but a remap would make you feel better for sure...

Cheers

Bas

Salut et bienvenue de la part de la France.

Its a different style of driving where as in a TDI you tend to change up early whereas the petrol you use much higher revs.

Following my 3 day Kia Cee'd test drive it took a little while to convert back to the way a petrol needs to be driven.

Welcome! Can't believe there are husbands that would do such things.Mind you,I now sleep in the spare room since my wife was 'convinced' an X trail was better than her Fabia:D (I secretly miss it too for some things)

Anyway, just drive the Octavia like you stole it.The Fabia will become a distant memory .If you continue to miss it,get yourself a nice SE Fabia and ditch the octavia:thumbup:

Welcome :)

Same as Postman Pat here as we have both, but I prefer the Octavia, and the wife the Fabia.

Why not buy hubby a Fabia vRS and borrow it :)

it's small, fairly light and therefore fun to drive.

compared to what??? John Deere's finest? :P

yeah the cars will drive very differently as the fabia will feel frantic but for short bursts where as the octavia might not pull quite as hard but for twice as long if not more so you need to floor it and keep your foot in to 7,000rpm :D

way i see it is octy is for the wannabe touring car driver in you and the fubaru(im using that from now on, sounds so funny!)is for the young hooligan in you that likes being mischievous and revving your engine at the lights. personally ive never driven a fabia so i cant comment on the handling etc.

revving your engine at the lights. .

It's definately not a car to rev at the lights:rolleyes: ;)

But quite right on the hooligan front:thumbup:

Maybe thats why there are too many of them ending up on their roofs.

It may be in a low insurance group but keep on crashing them and its going to be a high risk car and up everyone's premium so in time the young will not be able to have the vRS as a first car.

Joint first. Double leg.

Damn... beaten to a leg, how about trying an arm, I have a chair  ?

Anyway, hello & welcome Skoda Girl

I have a Fabia vRS and I love it. The Octy would be nice but it's a bit big for me at the moment, but when the time comes for the family, I'm sure I'll trade up.

Enjoy the site
