An example "Smart" car

A Smart ForTwo thing with rear PARKING SENSORS !!!

Crikey - with the rear window out/down you could reach backwards and touch a wall before the car did!

If you can't park one of those, you really should only have a licence for walking

I have to say, that is bloody ridiculous.

Oh really. Just 'cos they're available as an option doesn't mean you should buy them! As Jeff Goldblum once said:

"They spent so much timing arguing about whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think about whether or not they should"

Surely you can just lean back a little and take a look?!

LOL!!!

Haha, what a total waste. If you had to put them anywhere then you'd be better off with them on the front - your head's further away from the front bumper!

My mate bump his Smart 2/2 reversing once.

Maybe just for the selected few.

They're actually a suprisingly odd shape - the rear valance sticks out quite a bit, and the rear is wider than the front so placing the corners accurately for reversing close to an object isn't as easy as you'd think...

:D

almost as bad as an L200 with aero wipers...that made me chuckle.

Surely if you learn to use your door mirrors to help when reversing, it doesn't matter how much wider the back is than the front. And they come free with the car! ;):D

People who buy Smarts are "special" anyway

Would that be as in "needs"? ;)

I didn't say anything ;)

I liked my Smart and had no trouble parking it. Had no trouble parking a Transit either after a while, its just everything the sizes inbetween I have trouble with.

was it the new one i think they are a bit longer

I can't believe they have reverse sensors on a smart car. Next thing you know they'll have the little beepy noise to let everyone on the outside of the car know it is reversing. :rotz:

Really? :finger:

i saw one of those the other day with one of those great big haldrauds alloy spoilers on the top:O

I saw one of these this morning, in silver with black stripes up the bonnet:

I reckon that rear spoiler must be an absolute essential to keep the back end under control!

Didn't having parking sensors, though! ;):D

There's a guy I see drive past now and then driving a tuk tuk with a huge spoiler wacked on top. Always makes me chuckle.

You don't need parking sensors if you've got a woman in the passenger seat, she'll tell you you're to close anyway!!! :P

My Smart is much more fun to drive than anything Skoda make - it doesn't have a spoiler or reversing sensors though :(

Pah! Dunno why you bothered in that case! ;)
