Condensation in Front Indicators

Featured Replies

I have an 8 month old Octy vRS, noticed condensation inside both front indicator lenses today. I was once told this could lead to an MOT failure,

1) is that right?

2) is it easily sorted?

3) warranty replacement?

Gary

Get your MOT done on a hot day, problem solved :)

Its new, take it to the dealer.

Yes, plus it's not due an MOT for 2.5 years and I will have likely traded it for another vRS by then. Just wondering if it is a common fault, as BOTH lenses were full of condensation.

My dealership say it is a common fault. i've had three sets already

Take em off and dry them out - it's only one screw holding them in ... on the top. Try a hairdryer. Alternatively if you can reach to take the bulb out, wait til a warm day and take the bulbs out for the day.

Edit - if it's the side repeaters rather than the fronts then the process is slightly more complex - see instructions here

Warranty issue, your dealer should change them, if not ring Skoda, weve had one done no quible. If you use the hair dryer remeber they are plastic & will "change shape" if they get too hot, I managed to remodel a Subaru one due to my impatience

I said a hairdryer Stuart, not a blowlamp :P
