Yeah those coupes are quick...

I too apologise for the off topic but the fact is we have 2 or more new Fabia VS threads every week and frankly they are all the same. We need to move on from this now.

vRS would "have it in the twisties" though...

Strangely theres no sign of snoopie in this thread

he mustnt have seen it yet

There isn't really a lot for me to say. Apparently, the CTR's known as one of the best hot hatches, isn't a good handler, it isn't quick etc. And it gets beaten by Fabia's. It must be true then.

Oh AndyPandy; I was crying with laughter when I saw your post. Ahh dude thats sheer gold. :D Teehee.

On a side note, that does look horrific; do you think that was a fatality?

That photograph is proof that the VRS can defy physics. When Mine last hit 88mph I spent 3 weeks in 1955

I posted this reply way back but it never appeared so here goes again.

Here are the facts, no bull

1) She was the one who bragged, "No one ever passes me on the way home"

2) She challenged me

3) I picked up the gauntlet

4) I even gave her a head start

5) I passed her between 1 and 2 miles from starting

6) She never caught me up

Now if i'd been driving her car and a clone of me drove mine then maybe the Civic would have won but the fact still remains she challenged and lost, simple as!

You may want to disregard it because she was just a silly girl but i'm logging this as one as a victory for the Fabia VRS massive, read it and weep!

For clarification i will ask if she wants a re-match the next time i see her just to prove it was no fluke but this time i'll go out the gates in front and we'll see if she's still behind me when i get home.

I'll let you know guys, oh.. and no, she isn't cute and no, i didn't get a look at her face when i passed her as i was concentrating on the road.

Mac

oh.. and no, she isn't cute

Damn.....

Ali G had the right idea about immigration. Only let in the fit birds as the country needs more of them. :D

She is single though and got her own detached house and big jugs which nearly always fall out with the skimpy outfits she wears, but i digress. Up the VRS massive!

My bro raced a new type R on the motorway in his re-mapped VRS, said no difference up to 140 then his turbo shut down and engine went in to safe mode DOH! I would image if she could drive properly she would have won fella!

All fun though

What exactly does it mean when a turbo shuts down and engine goes into safe mode?

Does it come back after a period of rest?

How long does it take to get full power back?

From a non-petrol head, but i'm learning day by day!

Cheers

She may have been doing that, to let you think you'd won. I've often done it too Fiat Coupe Turbo's, there slow, and I just do it to prove a point. Accelerate then stop pushing so hard.... ;)

The turbo's run's out of puff, and can't spin any more, the ECU controls it, by putting your car into safe mode, therefore ... you can't do any damage. And if you do, minimal.

Well that's the 1st question answered. Anyone else care to have a go at the other two?

It doesn't last long. All you do, is switch of your engine, and switch it back on again but take it easy. Full power is then restored.

;)

I dont think she'd agree to having her picture posted for all you lot to drool over. You'll just have to use your imagination and have some kleenex handy!

I'm going to put a direct link to the Civic forum, hoping the girl is on there.

My 'bla bla bla' killed a 'blee blee blee' last week too.

Sure she wasn't blinded by all the soot?

Sure she wasn't blinded by all the soot?

Or deafened by all the engine noise at 8k rpm? ;)

Having your ears bleed can be a bit distracting when trying to race I imagine. :)

k20a is not that loud with a std exhaust. I can assure you it is with custom air induction, cat bypass and a Tubi exhaust!

* I don't need to post up about my car being faster than somebody elses; I just know it is.

You should hear the guy's down the road.....a black CTR with twin Powerflow style drainpipes (one either side) instead of an exhaust. Sounds bloody horrible and I imagine doesn't go any better with no backpressure.

Think 1.2 Nova and Cherrybomb and you get the idea. :D

Nasty! Only ever experienced them in an Elise and they always sound great.

A Cherrybomb? On an Elise? Errrrr..... :D :D

The Atom too. That sounds awesome......it does help having a great dustbin sized blower on it though, whining away. Mmmmmm......:P
