Playing Devils advo for a minute - if you dont fit OEM parts isnt that a "modification" going on the strictest use of the word?

I dont use OEM filters brake pads etc & what if I fit a heavy duty battery - will I see a premium hike for that?? Nope and Id not even mention it.

I see exactly what you're getting at mate, and have thought about not declaring mods in the past. But you know if you fitted an ARB and then someone smashed into your car and wrote it off for you, the Insurance companies involved would just laugh at any kind of claim you try to make.

It's all about perspective though (and choosing your wording carefully, Heavy Duty, Uprated, Improved etc etc. S'pose it's almost like anti-marketing.......)

Sorted.

Spoke to privilege and the guy didn't really know what i was talking about, so put me on hold for what literally 1 second and said he just spoke to his supervisor and they won't cover it. There way no way i was having that so tried to explain again what it was and he said all he can do is check with the underwriters so i told he too....... he came back 2 minuted later and said "yes, it's no problem"?! :D:rofl: No extra cost either, although my excess will go up by

I'm with Admiral, but only recently I discovered that confused.com is run by the Admiral group and not as you might believe an independant adviser.

True but I've used them before for my own insurance quotes and family. You'd think they'd be pushing admiral but never really seem them appear high on the list.
