Right ,I've just bought a Fabia with the Pd100 tdi engine,,,how do I make it faster ?

I could go straight to a re-map (where and how much ?)

-bigger 130 inj's and turbo,,maybe 150 ones -who does re-map to suit ?

-Fmic ?Seen a few on Fleebay and wondered if any of them come anywhere near fitting a Fabia

-how much does a smf cost and what clutch fits it ?where from ?

-I think it runs 256mm discs on front ? does golf 280's/calipers fit ?

- has anyone tried the Bilstein B12 kit ? - feed back?

who on the forum has been tuning the 100bhp Fabia ,more than just a re-map ?

I'm interested to see what has actually worked

sorry for all the questions ,but I never leave a car std and enjoy tweeking and cross ref stuff from other models. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel ,just have fun

Jason (devonutopia) and Ninja_Alex may be worth talking to. The brakes can't easily be upgraded without replacing hubs and things, but everything else is very doable. Jabbasport have some experience of tuning these, but I suspect most of the tuners on the site could do the work

The PD130/150 injectors are the same.

A PD150 turbo and a remap will see you pretty well up there with the remapped vRS boys.

IIRC Allards fabia FMIC was developped on a PD100, so that will fit for sure.

Devonutopia has a PD100 But seriously - he's had 2 tuned PD100s, so he knows quite a bit about them.

As for brakes, not sure what upgrades are available - but I think you need to change the hubs to get a size increase.

Mine is the 100pd

Just with the PD160 intake and a Pipercross panel filter and remap , mine is running 140 bhp and bags of torque

Mine is lowered by the Koni STR.T kit and sits wonderfully

Is the front hubs unique to the Vrs ? What polo/golf or seat models have same hubs to allow bigger brake fitment ?

Are the front Arb's bigger on the Vrs ?

I've sourced a 130 turbo and injectors ,whats the power limit on the 130 turbo compared with the 150 one ? Is it worth getting the ecu or are they coded to the car and too much hassle to get fitted ?

Are all the Fabia intercoolers the same or are the vrs ones bigger/better ?

Do you think Chipped uk could come up with a suitable map on the std 100bhp ecu ?

Looking at around 175bhp with the 130 turbo. 185-190bhp with the 150 turbo.

Seriously though, are the PD100 internals the same as on the 130's etc? Slapping on a bigger blower etc to a car that's only designed to handle 100bhp and a set amount of torque will surely only be a receipe for disaster?

Perhaps a PD130 transplant might be a good option and then mod that with a fat turbo, FMIC and a big hairy map.

Big brakes and better suspension can then follow......along with bigger wheels and some body mods to make it look the part.

The PD130 has a different block to the PD100. Oil cooled pistons and the like. And no, they aren't a direct swap.

The PD100 is a reliable lump - can't see you having many problems tbh.

However, if you want to a PD130 engine, start with a car that has that engine as standard and mod that instead, not worth the hassle of swapping imho - even jason will agree with that I'm sure!

Like Jason I too have played with my 100 to the point that its hybrid time for more power. With all my 130 components on the car its sitting at approx 185bhp.

I just bought this car for peanuts and wanted to have some fun tuning it up . I've already got Fabia Vrs SE but its too new to go and tweek !:( I'm a mechanic to trade so carrying out this sort of tweeks isn't that hard for me ,its the mapping that will be the pain !? not many people up this direction that can do that sort of thing.

Has nobody got an idea on the costs of the smf yet ? does one from the earlier diesels not fit ?

Well I managed to pick up a complete 130 turbo assembly today ,inlet manifold c/w egr valve/body, intercooler pipes ,airbox etc . Where are the injectors found on the engine ?

I have a PD100 chipped by Upsolute to approx 130HP. This made the car pull harder and smoother. I then fitted the PD160 intake (+ Green Filter) and definitly felt the difference. It allowed it to rev easier higher up the range. Well worth the cost and is now a MUCH nicer car to drive than standard. Bob.
