i think thats the one thing all the reviews ive seen and read about this new fabia mk2 is that what made the mk1 popular was the value for money that a skoda should be, its a vw without the badge snobbery. but with the mk2 theyve put up th price and its feels its lost it value for money that made skodas worth buying. but as ive said before theyve still got time to pull the cat out of the bag for teh vrs

and before anyone say's it'll brake down, my fabia had a new gearbox, new subframe, two new driveshafts, new EGR valve all under warrenty, and broken suspension (that wasn't fixed under warrenty) that I had to pay to mend....

Having had a Fiat Stillo... actually wasn't that bad apart from the trip computer telling me the car was constantly in danger of expiry, ABS warning coming on when anyone sat in the back of it et al...

I'm sure Jabbasport could come up with a package for that engine , after all theyve been chipping ECUs for ages now and they also did a lot of work with the G-lader superchargers on the Polo G40 and Corrado.

So I've been having lots of test drives recently. I had a go in the Grande Punto Sporting (after hearing Sharkrider's praise of his) and a new Bravo while I was there. Then I happened to be passing an Audi dealer ............................ and have ordered an A3 Sportback Sport 2.0TDI 140:eek:

I've always loved Audis but never bought one because the price premium just seemed to much over VW and Skoda, but I figure you can't take it with you and I did manage to get

With the risk of incurring Decron's wrath I can mention that I had lunch today with someone who is in the motoring press and was at Geneva recently. He stated that the VRS is on track for the next year (according to Skoda), there will NOT be a Diesel version and the car will have the 1.4 TSI but it will be the 122 bhp engine rather than the 160-70 bhp twin charge:sofahide:

I was speaking to a "man" who said that his brother's girlfriend's cousin's uncle's great grandmother's 2nd half cousin, once removed - heard that there will be a new Fabia vRS one day in the future. It is confirmed it will have an engine.

By the time it comes out there will be no ****ing oil left.

I think the power output of 122 is what i would expect, and to create some brand clarity with the diffrence between seat etc...

It is easy to mock and I know this is tiresome but those who know me from the Maidstone meet will hopfully back me up when I say that I don't believe in BS. I am not mentioning names but the person I refer to is on the editorial team of a national car magazine. Take it as you will. Maybe he was misinformed, maybe Skoda are putting out the wrong information: only time will tell.

Yeah some geezer I met on the street said he would arrange for me to have a test drive of the prototype. He said that in return he wanted a small favour which was to take a payment into my bank account then pass it onto him. He even offered to let me keep 5% of the amount paid in once it had cleared.

Yep ..... I think it has been around here for a couple of months maybe, Stu amongst others posted some pics of it from their visit to the geneva motorshow, I think it was mentioned to have a supercharged narrow block v6 and somewhere in the region of 380bhp.
