Fine people don't believe me but I am doing a journalism course in my spare time and been approaching some mags for some work. That was why I was talking to this guy. Let's reverse Decron's idea and say that if ( and it is still a big if) the car is launched with the spec I've mentioned, you give me ten quid.

My own personal view is the 122 would make sense, Skoda going for the warm hatch, cheaper insurance bracket whist keeping costs down and enabling any car to be priced reasonably.

Cheers.

Yeah some geezer I met on the street said he would arrange for me to have a test drive of the prototype. He said that in return he wanted a small favour which was to take a payment into my bank account then pass it onto him. He even offered to let me keep 5% of the amount paid in once it had cleared.

Was he Nigerian & did he ask for you bank account details & sort code

A journalism course  Why didnt you say, it must be the truth :P

;)

I'm not saying any more: Que sera sera...

But then where does the fabia sport fit into the equation? it's not a bad car with the PD105, would it be Skoda aiming for the slightly tepid hatch end of the market :)

This bloke offered a great deal on a brand new Mk2 VRS only yesterday!

Am sure i read some where that the 122 motor comes in 148 bhp form as well. A Non-Twin charged vRS with 150 bhp & 7 speed DSG makes a lot of sense. If they give it Brembo 4 pots on the front even better.

Remember its rather tall & not too wide i think 150 bhp would be about right.

He did you know:eek: Small world we live in, I take it you know him too?

Your all wrong its going to come with a 310bhp V10 Tdi which is going in the boot its going to be front wheel drive with a 7 sequential rally gearbox, brembo 12pot brakes at the rear and 2 cup holders in the rear (american market) 2 machine guns, a glovebox diamondbrite bodywork and a tube of skittles

My friends uncle whos twice removed from my brother in laws grandfarther.... (american family) told me. :P :P

It is easy to mock and I know this is tiresome but those who know me from the Maidstone meet will hopfully back me up when I say that I don't believe in BS. I am not mentioning names but the person I refer to is on the editorial team of a national car magazine. Take it as you will. Maybe he was misinformed, maybe Skoda are putting out the wrong information: only time will tell.

Yes by all means put all VRS 2 speak on a sticky thread but all this stuff about banning is a bit silly: "I disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it" ( Voltaire attrib)

Please don't take my tongue in cheek comment personally. It's called humour, and was just a summing up of the 8 billion threads and posts on a subject it appears even Skoda know nothing about.

You know the "Imotor" photos show a close up of the wheel, can anyone read the wheel size & tyre spec?

Mike

Whatever the spec , and assuming it is built at all , pricing will be key. When you look at the opposition and their prices , IMHO the Fabia II vRS will have to be priced at
