20k service

Featured Replies

Just got my 1.6 Octy back from Horners where it was for it's 20k

service. Thought I'd post the costs seeing as it's been a hot

topic of discussion recently!

Labour -

I had my 20K service last week 172 Euro, I didn't want the screenwash or wipers (as I'm able to get them trade price elsewhere) but got everything else robmawer got except brake fluid but I needed 2 brakelight blubs. Mine also got a wash, must be a new thing with the Skodas. The oil was Castrol TXT also .

I'm not sure if my wipers got changed. I'd bought some new

wipers as it was becoming hard to see, but Halfords did there

usual trick of having the wrong box on the wrong shelf. So only

the driver side one fitted, and they'd been sitting in my boot

too long to get a refund...

Anyway, back to the point, the passenger side one still seems

too smeary to be new, but it's less smeary than it was, but that

might just be due to it being clean now. I'll have to have a

feel of the blade.

Rob

I'm more surprised by the brake fluid than the screen wash.

It says as on the invoice:

"20k mile service including brake fluid renewal and 1552/5051

diagnostic check"

so I guess they did a full replacement. Not sure how much

brake fluid is though, or indeed how much is needed in a

full replacement.

I'll have to remember the liquid lighter fluid tip - shame all my

lighters use gas though...

Rob.

I forgot to say that Labour was approx. 77 Euro

GAFF - you're Irish aren't you?

Seems pretty cheap over there for servicing!

Rob.

Yes, I'm Irish, its a country dealership so I not sure how it compares to a Dublin Garage. When I got the 10K service last year the labour was 66 Euro.
