Engine hydraulically locked !!!

Featured Replies

I would hope the warning light would be something small. If the car was almost submerged then you may have had the christmas tree lights out a bit early. ;)

Hooray its back and running fine.

Picked it up this lunchtime. All clean and shiney. No smell of pond water either.

New VRS mats on order for next week.

Unfortunately later today the CEL indicator came on - will ring dealer tomorrow. Car running fine, though - its probably some electrical problem - I hope. Could be anything I suppose.

Also I'd forgotten just how dirty the seats were - not been cleaned since new (Oct 05) so made a start this evening. The foam upholstery cleaner stuff seems to work quite well.

Glad it's back!

Any news on the CEL?

The CEL is a faulty EGR unit seemingly. The garage cleared the CEL but again it re-illuminated after the second time the engine is restarted - weird

New unit to be fitted next week. I suppose water has affected that as well.

Otherwise car is driving fine so going up north in it to visit family.

Oh yes and my thanks to Prestige Garage, Coventry who have acted very professionally over the last few weeks.

the light usually comes on when the PCM sees the same fault code occuring on 2 drive cycles , therefore its a hard fault
