4th wipe after washing windscreen?

Featured Replies

Anyone figured out how to activate this on MY07 fabias? My dealer tried to do it before i collected the car but couldn't (even though it says they can in the MY07 supplement)...

I want it turned off on my octavia, its a pain as the screen is nice and clear after the 3rd wipe, and then the 4th one comes along and smears all over the screen.

I've turned it off on the Fabia so you'd like to think it would be the reverse - not tried one yet though.

Same for the OCty Manny - It's in the long coding. Maxidot as well on the newer ones I think.

which part of the long coding stu, might have a go at this one tomorrow.

I want it turning on! :D After the 3 wipes i get some splashes and always have to wipe again after a bit.....

I asked this a while back as well as turning off the headlight washers when using just sidelights.

Both of these bug me. The fourth wipe normally comes after the screen is dry and makes a mess of it.

Fabia is Controller 09 - Login 21343

Adaption 10

Channel 07

5 is default on and 0 is off.

Octavia I'd need to have a look to remind myself.

Cheers Stu, just need to find someone to do it now.

Manny - This is screen shot of Rays coding from another thread but it shows the option you need to change -

I noticed this tonight with the side lights, the only time on side lights ive operated the squirters:mad: knew it did on first squirt with xonons on, but didnt realise it worked on sides too.

Pictured above is the long coding helper which is now packaged with VAG-COM.

So is the conclusion that it can or can't be turned on? lol! I want the extra wipe toooo!! :(

If it's your fabia, then yes- My 05 vRS had it on. I hated it.

Why???? It's rubbish! I have VAG-Com now, so I'm gonna go and turn mine off as it's bloody annoying!

It's a bit of a matter of choice like many of the functions that can be enabled/disabled.

Myself I don't have a problem with it.

Job done.

I'm an expert now with this Vag com stuff, oh and resurrecting old threads.

I took the fuse off. There is the fuse only for headlight washers. I've looked at the manuals and found which one it was. Can't remember the number, but look at the book. It's now fine, squirters never came on again.

I still can't understand which option to untick for Octy to turn 4th wipe off. Can anyone be more specific?

I've activated my 4th wipe without vagcom. It's called "push down on the stalk again" Optional too, so if 3 wipes is enough, no need. :D
