national meet help

Featured Replies

 can anyone help me i will be attending the meet on the 24th i understand that i need a crash hat to protect what brain i have, i wish to buy one but have been told by one bike shop that there is a different standard for trackdays than there is for bikes, is this true? does it affect us?

Look for the magic phrase BS6658-85 Type A

Plenty of helmets cross over - mine was bought on eBay as a bike helmet. It's only the really cheap ones AFAIK that won't meet the standard.

Don't believe so... Erik@AAT is doing various helmets which will be fine for the trackday. As long as it's not a bicycle helmet I think you'll be fine. ;)

I stand to be corrected, but i doubt if they'll be checking each & every helmet on the day. You'll probably get away with a half-decent bike lid ;)

Alternatively, there's currently a group buy in progress, you might be able to get in. Failing that, Demon Tweeks will do you an open face Sparco for

Out of interest (and possibly for the benefit of others) what shops would sell them?

Am thinking of people worrying about getting the right sized one....

Get a tape measure and measure around your head including your ears...most normal people have a large head...around 61cm. ;)

Buy an XL one ..............one size fits all .............if not , just pull the straps tighter

I would look in bike shops first - just be careful to pick one that meets the standards.
