improving handling?

Featured Replies

Hi

Can you guys comment on what will give you better handling in a VRS Mk1?

Dont want to spend a fortune but would like better cornering capability?

Thanks

Going up to 225s if you haven't already. Oh and they're also cheaper than the standard 205s. Or fit an rear ARB, or uprated dampers, or stiffer springs.

It really depends on exactly what you're trying to do.

Without a doubt a neuspeed 28mm rear anti roll bar. The biggest difference in handling than anyone component can make.

at the risk of being flamed..... softer rear springs ??

Just out of interest is that an alternative in some way or a joke

Rear ARB makes a big difference. Not too expensive and can be fitted yourself.

no, i'm being serious, the rear springs being too stiff is why it skips about a lot.

So softening off the back end improves rear grip, without increasing rear roll stiffness, which will not help wet handling!!

would an ARB count as a modification to the suspension and requires your insurance to be made aware?

I see your point tom they are a bit skittish on the back end but then ken goes and spoils it lol

there's allways a compromise, but imho most modern european cars have rear springs that are far too stiff, but then they are designed to carry 4 passengers and a boot full of shopping... the rear springs in the fabia are far too stiff, and the koni ones i have on mine noe just take the ****

Yes

Should not be much though!
