KTP,

Are you going to the Edinburgh meet tomorrow ?

You could see mine done by Magma.

My back window is Dark, rears are medium, and fronts are light. :)

yeah johnny i should be, Magma have done my last 3 cars so i know the quality of work they carry out, i just want a visual on the fabia to decide how dark to go.

my octavia was 35% all round but it was a lighter shade of red than the fabia

My octavia estate with the "limo" tints to all rear windows, done by Barry Fimister Autotints in Kirkcaldy.

Third car I've had done by Barry, excellent job!

There are pictures of my black vRS here with tints:

HTH :)

What level are the tints on your car?

Place I'm looking at lists

50% very light smoke

60% light smoke

80% dark smoke

and dont want too dark on my black fabia, just subtle and a little bit on the front sides too. thinking maybe the 50% on back sides and rear and see if they dont something lighter for the fronts.

So based on current legislation, the most 'extreme-pimp-psyco-limo' you could go, would be 70% front/front sides and 20% (or is 15% the darkest?) on the rear/rear sides. Is that right?

You can have the windows as dark as you want from the B pillar back. You cant touch the windscreen.

The front sides at most a very light smoke but you have to take the factory tint in the glass into consideration before you darken it further.

That's why i left mine standard, Just saves a lot of grief from the authorities

if your gonna go for it dont get total black out try and get something in the middle.

I eventually opted for Dark on the back window, medium on the rears, and light on the front.

Would probably go for that choice again if getting another car done.

Do any of the tinted rolls available on epay for DIY, make sense to get a professional result?

having done my own tints in the past its only really possible to do yourself if you can remove the window in my experience otherwise its bloody difficult.

Ahem, I don't think I'd like to remove those windows... thank you.

Got my black superb done last year for

I did my own in my old Navara - fairly easy on flat glass, but if the window has a curve in it, it's a bl**dy nightmare!!
