Any idea of cost for an Octy 2 estate?... Sworell?

Just thinking of costs compared to the official Skoda blinds that can be removed in winter (SWMBO doesn't like tints in winter as they are "too dark and I can't see out of them")

Cheers

ive seen about

I have medium tint rears and light tint fronts.

I paid

So non-removable tints are around

Hmm...sounds like they're trying it on with me then...I don have a number for somewhere else..

I'll call them now for a quote and see how they compare.

Just got another quote, bit more realistic, and they were recommended to me, i just forgot about them.

Johnny,

what are they saying about the front side windows?

I thought from a legal standpoint you couldn't get ANY tint applied to the side fronts or they would be deemed illegal by the BIB?

I would love a light tint on the front, and darker (but not hearse black) on the rears

With the b-pillar blacked in too - not an issue for your car ;)

I asked about the front windows, they said they would put them on, but from a legal point of view, it would be "against their advice", but at the same time, they said it's the customers car, so they'd will do what they're asked/paid to do.

I think i'll go light on the front, and slightly darker on the rear..

Might paint my B pillars silver...just so i can say i've done it ! :D:rofl:

Just out of interest what is the name of the company that gave you the good quote?

I'm based in west Lothian and am thinking of getting my Passat done but would rather go on a recommendation rather than a flash web-site!

Cheers in advance!

Any good tinters in north Derbyshire/South Yorkshire/Peak District???

Not 100% sure where they are...whitehill ind est i think...

just need to work out how to drop the car off and get to work etc..

Do all of these Tinters use film?

From what i can gather...yes.

Actually, whats the alternative ?

I've seen a few boy racers going around Livingston with tints done by Magma, only thing I would say is the put a logo in the tint on the back window which I don't know if they give you the option of not having this.

Always look like quality installs just a pity it always seems to be the hat on back to front brigade that have it done!

There is another place I've seen a web-site for and it's based in Newbridge not sure on the name but I'll have a look, also not sure on prices. They seemed like a franchise national type of operation though.

Found it:

I meant to say...

After all the debate, and not seeing a black Vrs with the windows done.

Driving home lastnight, and there was an identicle Octy vRS with medium tints..

Am sure the guy thought i was stalking him as i started at the car. :D

Looked ace.

He had all windows done.

i had an octy2 est done and it looked ok from a distance, but i did it my self so it wasn't too good up close.

just had my roomster done properly and to looks well good (close up too) gave

Good stuff.

Got mine booked in for next wednesday afternoon.

Still not 100% on what i'm getting done.

At the moment i've 90% decided on

Light - Front

Medium - B pillar back.

Part of me says to go light at the front, medium at the back, and then dark on the rear window

What you think ?

Love tints myself. IMHO they look great on a black car.

thats what i have on my octavia johnny but i'd say go for medium all round the back rather than super dark as it can be a bit too dark at night sometimes.
