Hi Jon,

Hope you get the cheque as soon as they say (it's in the post...honest..).

Are you still going for what we discussed before and if so have you found one that you like the look of?

Its a big shame about the car with all the work put into it

but

The main thing is that no one got seriously injured

i have a slight phobia about wagons and my furbie being level with them

I either drop back behind them or boot it past them

Ive seen too many wagons drifting into a lane and i dont want to end up being a victim of some dopey arsed lorry driver like you have been

Phew - but at least you're in one (slightly injured) piece.

Genuine mistake, I reckon. Despite some disparaging remarks about lorry drivers they have to be bloody good to manage tons and tons of vehicle in todays increasingly demanding circumstances. I've found the majority to be excellent.

I'm sure the guy is mortified.

Whatever ......

Be sure and get yourself checked over thoroughly.

I agree, lorry drivers are by in large excellent drivers. Foreign lorry drivers can be a different story though!

OP, hope you're ok, as has been said, better the car than you . . .

Keeping diesel, with the milage I do. Would love a Octavia II vRS TDI but they're still beyond my budget.

As much as I love the Fabia vRS & it's "wolf in sheep's clothing" status , I fancy a change. If only the new Fabia vRS was available!

Keeping it VAG but not Skoda I'm afraid.

You need a TDi converted Corrado Jon

Jetta? Nice cars them, wouldn't mind one myself.

I'd be tempted by a uber spec late bora PD130, should leave plenty of

Yep, they did PD150 Boras, not in Highline spec though IIRC (which is maybe the spec you're referring to, with leather etc?) The derv models topped out at PD130 on this.

Yep - Found 2 so far.

Just test driven the first which was local. First impressions are good. Not my first choice of colour but the second one is but it's a little further away.

Thought the 'Rado was a coupe? ;)

My Fabia is no more. :(

Driving to work yesterday morning on a dual carriageway which has a two laned slip road (me being in the left slip road & a wagon in the right).

I noticed in my door mirror the wagon indicates & moves over to my lane.

My first thoughts were "bloody hell, he's close" & then I felt the impact!!

It sent me into spin & I bounced off a barrier on the right. The barrier throws me into the side of the wagon's trailer. At this point I knew it wasn't going to be nice, as I saw the side protection bars & massive wheels coming towards me.

I eventually came to a stand still about 50 yards after the impact.

The wagon driver stopped & came running towards me, obviously as shook up as I was!! Thankfully I was uninjured (well not visiblably anyway). I do have a very stiff neck & shoulder now.

As for the the Fabia, well it's a total loss. The N/S front door is pushed in to the centre console. The N/S front wing, A pillar & sill is pushed in about 9 inches, the roof is bent in about 3 places, the rear bumper was ripped off (don't know where that went!!) & various scuffs & scratches down each side.

You could say I'm a bit gutted, but at the end of the day, I'm OK. It could have been a lot worse.

Yikes! Had more or less the exact same thing happen to me about 3 years ago. drivig a titchy little Micra, the wagon cut in from outsude lane just the same and hit me just behind my door. Spun me round in front of him and he then pushed me along sideways for about 50 yards, all the time I'm thinking 'It's gotta tip over here!'. Luckily it didn't but I SHAT myself!

Jeez! That does sound pretty similar.
