Yep thats what he has bought......now we have to collect it and find somewhere to put it  ....reason for buying? it comes from our home town and father in law did go out in a few times in the 15 tears he was there .....we have a picture of them stood in front of the same engine 1967 the one he has bought is on the left

1967 BEDFORD TK FIRE ENGINE on eBay, Bedford, Classic Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (item 110153281237 end time 02-Aug-07 18:34:52 BST)

Excellent project! Does his driving licence cover him to drive it though (when it's fixed up!)?

To be honest Chris we are trying to find out if the normal licence is OK ....mine used to be any vehicle under three tons unladen........but most hippies seem to drive the same size vehicles and they cant all have HGV  ....

Should be fun to do up and research the history of it....we want to make a list of all rhe firefighters who were there while it was.

Of all the blokes in the picture only five are still alive ....had a brilliant talk with one of the drivers last night ....Quote " that thing would'nt go uphill, it was alright on the flat or downhill ...but if yopu went outside Marlborough (every road out is upwards) you had to crawl up at 10mph

yeah, that would be when it has a few thousand gallons of water on board, i should imagine it would be ok with no water in??

That is what I was hoping ....the engine is 115 ish bhp ....probably does even less mpg than a petrol Vrs

5litre, 6 cylinders and 115bhp

thats aweful!!

unless ofcourse it only revs to 2000rpm as then it would have 300lbft :D

Different I suppose. Will it have a massive Briskoda sticker on each side when its finished????????:P

surely that would have been waaaaaaaahhhhhh rather than naa naa naa naa?

Or nee naw nee naw?
