However, I'd like to get a grill surround from a scrappy; that way I can return the grill to original should the need arise. So, what I need to know is: is the chrome grill surround the same for all Fabia models?

Yes they are...... Don't know how much cheaper they would be though as a brand new one is only

where'd you get that 3m film from bahnstormer?

I did a fair bit of research into this before getting the film; the main problem I found was identifying a retailer who would sell me a piece of film the right size.

Foliotec do a Paint Protection Film, but not that I could find in a suitably big enough piece.

Venture Shield Film is a possibility but the dealers I spoke to were only interested in doing the whole front of the car for

Nope; got my local Skoda dealer to have it done in the bodyshop they use.

Perfect paint match of course and (pleasantly) no gripe about "oh, we can't do that Sir, 'cos the paint will chip off".

well impressed with the grill in black, couldn,t help myself and got mine painted too!!!!!!!!! also had the windows tinted and skoda lowering springs on it. u must be patient with me, not very good at adding pictures!! btw camera not 2 good either.

Did you tell your insurance about the springs? Mine refused to cover me if I changed the springs from standard.

The car was freshly washed and leathered with Turtle Wax 'Wax it Wet' and had an Autoglym LifeShine when new in April, but no major polish since. It does photo well.

The Red looks excellent, IMHO, when clean and is actually pretty good when dirty as it 'hides' the dirt to a fair degree.

I thought this was a similar think to jaguar where they de-chromed the sports version of one of their cars.

Could be a Dull Chrome/Stainless effect they might start using, or exclusive to that model... That would look good too IMO

Where did you get the windows tinted?

i got the windows tinted by a firm called auto tints, which is a company thats based near grimsby, very professional, would highly recommend. i got a 50% tint all round which is illegal but looks good!!!!
