Been having a poke around my new vRS (well new to me at least) finding a coupl of small jobs that need to be done. I stuck my head under the rear bumper and noticed this rusty monstrosity :(

Just wanted your opinions as to whether this looks like its going to part company with the backbox any time soon? I know that there is a common problem with the mid mount, something the guy I bought this from said was sorted under warrenty for him but haven't read about and rear ones coming off.

I'm probably just worrying about nothing but your oppinions would be appreciated.

I would say that it's days are numbered.

If you want to stay OEM try a post in the wanted section as many people remove them to replace with Stainless.

Think I'll be keeping a giant jubilee clip in the car "just in case" :P

Im sure if you took that to any custom exhaust place they could chop that off and reweld using stainless bar for not many pennies.

Don't know of any custom exhaust places locally but I'll try a couple of the standard exhaust places.

Most of the smaller branches of exhaust chains would be prepared to have a go at welding you a new bracket if they were quiet and sure the area manager wasn't lurking their way IME.
