Rear springs from police spec vRS...

Featured Replies

Does anyone know whether these are higher poundage compared to the standard ones? Back one has gone on mine and wondering whether there wil be any difference. I heard some rumour they were harder for the extra kit they carry?

We were told by Leicester Police at GTi International this year that they did have uprated springs - not sure how much truth. I any case it is wise to replace in pairs.

Yeah, off an 04 breaker. Im half tempted though to pay

Yeah, off an 04 breaker.

Sounds like a good price. The springs should have coloured paint markings on them which relates to the load index of them.

Im half tempted though to pay

I know, always thought the vRS would look nice a little lower though ;)

my vrs is ex police and looks low enough. any lower and it would look inappropriate for speed bumps etc

Our traffic cars have uprated springs to cope with the extra weight they have to carry (Equipment, not me!)

thought so as ive seen all the screw fixings mine has in the boot floor.

looks like swarzenegger has been shooting it with a minigun

i know most vauxhalls do. the springs are usually higher and stiffer to cope with going up and down curbs etc when chasing. the ride height will probably go up due to them been stiffer and designed to carry more weight and probably been longer design anyway.

Ehhh...dont know what to do now!!

Do you have a pic of the back of yours, si?

Should I add sump guards into the thought process, there are a few enthusiastic drivers who have hit their sumps on std height cars. Ive heard that some Police forces fit them as std so this little mod might already have been done though in which case lower away

This leads me onto asking whether anyone has fitted Eibach lowering springs, any pics/opinions of them and also how is the ride quality?

Do eibach doe springs for the vRS? I know in the past they never.

Didnt Jon have a set on his slow black skoda and reported the stock ones were stiffer?

Edit Doesnt look like eibach do them http://www.eibach.de/index_2.php?LID1=13&LID2=0&LID3=0&LID4=0&MODL=[D]Octavia%20(1U)%20Limousine[/D][E]Octavia%20(1U)%20Sedan[/E]&SPA=1&C_lang=en&STEP_2=1&STEP=1&STEP_3=1&HRST=Skoda&STARTLIST=1

Very odd as theyre on Jabba's website.

i will get sum pics up tomorrow morning of my car. mine by no means looks taller than other octys. the wheels are tucked nicely near the arches. no 4x4 style on my car

Very odd as theyre on Jabba's website.

Hi the spring kit we do for the vRS is a kit that we have asked Eibach to produce, the ride is still Very comftable but you can feel it is stiffer, and they still lower the car the correct ammount 45mm at the front and 30mm at the back, to make it sit level against the arches.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I was just after a slight 20mm drop or so.

ive lowered cars before. made it look good but with passengers in the back i had to be soo careful. if your going to get it done get coilovers as just getting springs takes up more time to fit and hence costs more labour to which i found out.
