First mod for the Passat! :-)

Featured Replies

Well, not quite a straight swap like I'd hoped, but after some loom chopping for the horn, I now have a nice 3 spoke "Sport" wheel with an R32 airbag. :) The new one is about 2" smaller (so steering feels much more precise! :D ), and feels much chunkier, and hasn't got the horrible indentations on the back for fingers. :)

Not a bad mod - wheel cost

and hasn't got the horrible indentations on the back for fingers. :)

That was one thing I really didn't like about the Golf! I like the "horrible" indentations ;)

Looks good though :D

Doesnt make it sporty tho... think you need a magictree for that

magictrees are the source of all evil. as are all airfresheners!!

Looking good mate - a big improvement I think

Just continue on updating other round things, and you'll be onto a winner ;) :P

Looks good Tom

Nice mod, Tom. Looks good, and I should imagine it feels much better than the old wheel

Very nice Tom. You just need to sort those credit cards now and get that MFD sorted out!

nice mod..... is the airbag all connected correctly? I'd hate to worry it may go off without warning!

Of course it is!

I had to clear a fault code (resistance too high - from disconnecting the old one), but yes, absolutely fine.

Aero rear wiper conversion kit on the way

Along with replacement front aero wipers, replacement speaker grille as one is missing, new bushes, nuts and caps for the engine cover mounts so I can refit that, new air intake (like for like replacement) as the old one is loose and vibrates against the bonnet. New badges and batteries for the 2 key fobs too, just to make them nice and new looking. :)

Plenty on the list to-do after that little lot though. :);) Just trying to get it back up to mint condition throughout, whilst adding little bits on the way.

Really do want some new alloys, but what to go for? I feel a thread coming on.

New alloys? What a tremendous idea.

;)

Much better !

Some RS/TT/R32 OEM style pedals would complement that nicely :D

Is there a difference between an R32 airbag and one from a normal 3-spoke golf wheel?

Good shout on the pedals

Get it sorted Tom! :D
