On Johns car his turbo had gone and it simply dumped a lot of oil into the IC and was low on power. Also he had 'boosting'.....the cars revs varying when holding the throttle steady and you could hear the turbo spooling up and down.

I agree with the above - a sudden drop in power and lots of smoke suggests a pipe has come off due to the clips being weak.

Yer they said about 2l of oil in the intercooler and surrounding pipes:eek:

I can confirm this as they spilt a load of this on the engine mount and ruined it. :rofl:

The clips are very week on the standard intercooler piping and because of the design there is no way of upgrading without replacing the whole section of pipe with something aftermarket.

don't think its just modded cars with this problem my 04 vrs blew the turbo after the first week and less than 100 miles,it was put down to a bad batch apparently:thumbup:
