Seat Cupra r TDI

Featured Replies

Just been blown away from the lights by a Seat Leon Cupra R TDI with an APR sticker on it :thumbdwn:

does anyone know what engine bhp these things put out??

Damm quick,

Mike

standard TDI Cupra uses the PD150 engine.

And with an APR sticker is likely to belching out 200BHP+

I have a friend with one (three weeks old). Not chipped (yet!) but still VERY nice, and no slouch.

Damn, why did I get an SDI? :(

a standard pd150 will be pushing about 170bhp as standard. (the one on the recent RR day was)

see, another unfortunate member finds out the secret of diesels the hard way

I might think about moving to the dark side soon then!!

You could always go the IHI turbo route from Jabba. That would be fun. :D

re the std pd150 being 170bhp. I'm no expert in turbo charged engines, but it strikes me that the 150bhp is probably quoted at 25*C ambient. Therefore I thought that with such a heavilly boosted engine, there'll be a lot of heat to get rid of via the intercooler (boyles law iirc).

Hence, if the ambient temp is lower - say 10*C as it has been recently - the engine will produce a bit more bhp as the manifold pressure is presumably whats regulated by the ecu.

Are am i on the wrong track entirely?

Cheers

Damn, why did I get an SDI badge on my PD130? :(

:ne_nau: :D :D :D

The was a stock cupra r tdi at the rr day which got 175bhp, it beat my octavia rs at 174bhp. Mike I thought yours was around 230bhp?

Just to say that there is the Leon Cupra TDi PD ... supposedly 150 bhp but coming out at 172 ish and then there is the 210 and 225 Leon Cupra R :)

Damn' date=' why did I get an SDI badge on my PD130? :([/quote'']:ne_nau: :D :D :D

Although if I had the money, I think I'd rather get a new Tavia vRS for a grand less than a seat cupra tdi pd (and that's from a smelly pump driver!!!)

Not being funny but why are Seats more expensive than Skodas?????? As they really are not in the VW/Audi league are they and they aren't that special

"You're paying for the badge"...

Rob.

"You're paying for the badge"...

Glad you are laughing at that one :) We used to take the mick out of a workmate ages ago saying he had a Spanish Lada

Sounds like why SEAT owners ask why VW and Audi costs more than a SEAT ....

I have chased one along a B road. Quite nippy until we hit a straight and I went straight past.

Impressive for a diesel.

They blow a bit of smoke when there taking stick. I thought the smoke problems of diesels had been solved?

Maybe they had invested in one of those "

Yep I remember seeing the figures quoted for the PD130 taken at 25*c, therefore the colder the air the more you can squeeze in the cylinder, more air = more power.
