Smallest detail ever - on a Passat Key.

Featured Replies

Firstly, apologies for the quality of pics.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Well, ordered me a couple of replacement batteries and badges, and thought I'd make my very well used keys like new! :)

Looking sorry for themselves:

Used nail varnish remover to get rid of the old glue, and a solution of soapy water and cotton buds to clean out all the edges, the key blade, the symbols on the buttons etc. Gave the metal bits some Autosol treatment, and the black bits a tiny bit of AG Bumper Care, virtually all taken off with a microfibre.

Quite pleased with the keys, look brand new now! :thumbup:

That's the sort of attention to detail that makes me proud to be British. Good work fella!

What can I say, I was bored! :rofl:

Dad walked into my room - "why are you taking photos of your keys?" :rofl:

Nearly as embarassing as being caught ****ing, lol.

Well your obviously not blind if your giving your car that much attention to detail so it can't happen that often

:rofl:

Yes, its sad Ben. However, it did only take a whopping 5 mins with some cotton buds tbh. Taking pics and posting on a forum though, going to the effort of cropping, resizing and hosting etc, THATS sad.

What can I say, its Friday night and I'm home alone. :rofl:

:rofl: at this thread!!!

I would say :wrthless: but no, you've gone and provided pics as well :P

You're really supposed to keep activities like this to yourself Tom! ;)

Good effort though :thumbup::rofl:

Steve

Jeez, and I thought I needed to get a life!

Now all you need is the old tippex pen approach to refreshing the white outline bits on the buttons. ;)

  • Author

I have thought about that. Not going to use tippex, but if I can find a flexible paint for plastic... ;)

Yea i mean how sad can you get!!

anyone have the part number so i can get some new badges for my remotes :D:D

I'd be inclined to try a little pot of Virosol, and the Meguiars detailing brush on those!! :P :rofl:

:rolleyes:

Sorry but a ****** getting caught by his Dad,

cleaning his keys and posting pictures,

admitting to using nail varnish,

needing to ask others where to meet girls,

BEATS the super hero thread IMHO. :rofl: :rofl:

Very enlightening thread :eek: :eek:

However, I think it's something I'll Passat :P
