Glove Box

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was wondering, I've read on a few posts that the vRS has the A/C Air Pumped into the Glove Box so it can be used to keep drinks cool, I was wondering if that's standard or an optional extra?

Many Thanks

MarkT.

Standard. Also has a can cooler on the drivers side.

Cheers for the quick replay Stu, didn't realise it has on one the Drivers Side too!!!

Not yet found the vRS for me yet, but still looking!!!

Again, thanks for your quick reply.

Don't leave cans in there, apparently they can explode under certain circumstances....

For the glove box to keep 'em cool, you've got to set the black plastic circle valvey thing on the right hand side to open... I'm sure you'll work it out.

For the can cooler to work, the plastic slide switch at the top has to be pulled out so that "on" is displayed.

I know that for the can cooler the air-con has to be set to cool. I don't know about the glove box.

Hope that helps,

Rob

This is true. The glove compartment always blows cold but the can holder blows at whatever temp is coming out the vents. If you have a can in there, with the air on, and the heater on hot the can will warm up and can explode resulting in a bit of a mess. :thumbdwn:

I'll take a pic of mine in the mroning and post it up on here.....

Or for UK users flip the picture

You can not see the pull "out" lever unless it is in the "on" posn

So just right of the steering wheel bottom of dash drop can sized

door, feel top right for a lever, pull it forward for ON jobs a good one

when i tried pulling out the vent switch fgr the can cooler on the drivers side, I yanked it right off and bits of metal contacts came with it too!!

Also in the glove box, the dial where you control the box temperature is annoying me because its rattles during accelration....

ah the cloth holder in my car  didnt realise it was a cooler too?!?!?!

LOL cloth holder ... it is a bit on the small side, thankfully the bottom is hinged and underneath is a half decent space at least large enough for my A to Z to fit anyhow. hehe

Regarding Exploding Cans, On A Hot Day The Air Con Is Gonna Be On Cold And On A Cold Day The Heat Will Be On Keeping The Coffee Warm; No?
