sagging headlamps

Featured Replies

As with all Felicias my headlamp adjustment doesn't work and my left lamp is trying to pinpoint 2 yards ahead! I have adjusted them up using the adjusters on the unit but i am not convinced that it will be high enough come MOT time.

Is there a way of getting more adjustment?

Remove the adjuster unit from the back of the headlight.

The rod that goes into the headlight and connects to the bottom of the reflector has a phillips screw end on it. Wind this out, it wil lengthen. Refit the motor and it will have raised the headlamp giving you some more adjustment on the regular adjuster.

Here you are

i made my own manual adjusters

start with a pair of fixed point reflector holders from an old passat in a scrappers(about g reg) they just screw out 1/4 turn (pliers possibly needed)

remove screw from centre and drill and tap to 6mm

slightly trim a couple of mm from the 3 mounting noggins

wind in a long 6mm bolt (10mm head) and grind end to a point (not hex end)

remove fluid controled adjuster from rear of headlamp and tuck out of way

fit manual adjuster and adjust with 10mm spanner

hope this helps, steve

MODS can u sticky my above post as its something ive posted several times and i take ages to type long replies

cheers steve

Is it easy to remove the adjuster unit? It seems stuck on mine

My n/s headlamp was in a similar state and this was one of the items the car failed the MOT on last week. The garage recommended a new headlamp at
