Mondeo Titanium X...

Featured Replies

With that sort of mileage i would hazard a guess at quite a few of them are ex rental cars.

I suppose if you keep it long term its not a problem...

That rules you out then Tom. ;)

Has anyone got or test driven one of the new shape Titanium X's.

Is that a no then. :P

I have Des. Although they only had the 2.0 TDCI on site for me to drive.

The handling felt way better than the Passat, but didn't really get the opportunity to chuck it about. The engine felt a touch weaker - no massive surge of torque like the PD130, a little bit noisier too... but progress was probably very similar to the PD130.

I really liked it, and the seats

However, it didn't wow me like I thought it would, so I'll be keeping the Passat for now. :)

Was that a Mk3 you drove, Tom, or one of the new shape Mk4 Mondeo's?

Chris

Presume these Mk4's are on the road now? I'm pretty sure I saw one (it was dark and rainy and it was going the other way:rolleyes: )

Going off thread a bit but company car driving friend and his company (who have a large ford fleet)were trying to be pursuaded that the new one looked a 'bit' like the Aston Martin.......

Without being funny, from the front it did..a bit:) Or maybe it was an Aston that shot past and I need glasses:D

Seen a couple on the road now. Not convinced by the estate one, but I like the look of the hatch :D

The Mk3. I love the styling of the Mk4, but all the reviews I've seen say its not quite as nice to drive as the old one. :)

And yes, the front does have an air of Aston about it. The new one is a VERY nice looking car.

New shape ones arent all that expensive compared to how much the mk3's cost to buy.

Is that a no then. :P

Yes :D

Sounds like you had a 'Punto Quattroporte' moment there then mate.

(new Punto looks like the Maserati also)

The Mk4 Zetec wheels are hideous, they look like castors.

Looks good at the front, not so good at the back though.

Just looking at the Ford site, I noticed that all new Mondeo's come with "Intelligent Protection System including driver's knee airbag".

they also come with a special adapter nozzle for the fuel filler neck so the pipe off a fuel can will go in the filler neck anti-wrong fuel flappy thing

so kn0bh3ads will still be abe to get petrol into a diesel :( they will just have to dig out the nozzle from under the spare

The car rental firm I work for has a number of these in its fleet: we have a few in the depot and I have driven them a bit recently. Very nice cars and great on motorways for overtaking stupid HGV drivers who ride side-by-side thereby being a pain in the a***.

Actually we seem to rent out just about anything because the company's principle is that "if you want it then we will do our best to provide it". Which would explain why, last Friday, there was a black taxi in the depot and also a brand-new (WA59 ***) Aston Martin V8 Vantage......
