New FUBY, NO GOOD FOR vRS

Featured Replies

so you cant even have a laugh at it now. you just cry.

i had another go at sitting in the one in the dealer at the weekend, thought "nissan micra/vauxhall corsa" it was horrible.

I really liked it!

I was driving behind one the other day and it did look very high off the ground! almost 4wd like. I believe they will have to lower the car alot to make it worthy of sporty looks. I have to admit it did look alot nicer in the flesh than it did on pictures.

also the driver in the fabia mk2 was trying his hardest to stay infront although, he did have Half The Power (HTP)so I obliged and passed him.

Yep, his upmost hardest.

snoopie, what you don't realise or are too stupid to realise, if he did try and I tried, I'd pass him anyway.......

so it didn't matter really if he was trying or not does it?

why don't you try adding to the thread next time, makes you look a tad more intelligent.....

on that note, i will wait till the VRS is out until I disregard it.

Completely agree. I understand it from a better point of view now.

You beat a car, that wasn't trying, as the owner was running it in, and on top of that, bragged about it. My fault. :o

Might look quite nice??

I hate it... I REALLY hate it

Don't think you could salvage the car by making a VRS out of it... plus the fact that Skoda have slapped a grand on all the models (at the request of VW) means that people will start looking elsewhere.

The thing that made the Mk1 VRS so quirky was that it'd never been done before... sticking a diesel engine in a hot hatch... so the only way Skoda could save the brand... and face, would be to make an equally powerful statement.

Suggestions

1) maybe an audi A3 like grill at the front that bisects the bumper to break up the front a little?

2) Lower the car a little (a few of you have already mentioned this)

3) I dunno... maybe centre mount the exhaust or something

4) Include leather interior or a satnav as standard... xenons would be good too

5) Subtle body kit (front, rear AND SIDE SKODA) :D

If it looks as good as the pics above though... I'd buy one of those :D

Think it had been done a few times before ;)

306.

Sorry if I'm a bit blunt, but let's face it, manufacturers tend to occasionally get 'lucky' and produce something the market really likes, such as the Fabia vRS, and also the Octy Mk1. Now the Mk2 is out, and it is sure going the same way for the Octy.

Hard to know if the same applies to the Fabia Mk2.

The competition is very fierce and there are some excellent alternatives out there now for the Fabia vRS, which IMHO was not really the case at the time that came out from a value for money and 'fun' factor perspective.

Still, happy I bought it when I did, and if/when mine is back on the road, I'll enjoy it again for sure :D

Apart from the 306 DTurbo , Citroen ZX , Various Golfs , Alfa 145 JTD and plenty more besides.

The Fabia VRS was a parts-bin special - there was virtually nothing new exclusively for it , but it worked well and was priced sensibly so it sold in good numbers.

There's no reason why the Mk2 won't do just the same

unless its crap. but if the vrs looks anything like the second pic in my previous post i will be over it like a fly on you know what :D

SAw it today, too tall, to narrow..........can't be used!

Mike

Well, that's it then. Mike has spoken. Who's going to ring Skoda and break the bad news to them? We'd better have some tea and sponge cake (he he) ready to soften the blow....

Oooh ooh - me please :D

Chris

Maybe they will do a Chocolate covered version of the cake ad to sell a vRS version ;)
