Some posts recently appear to have indicated a less than welcoming tone to non Skoda owners. What do you think?

Any incidents in particular? Can't say I've noticed anything. Luckily I have thick skin ... well you have to when you drive a slow diesel repmobile ;)

Chris

Hmm, I say get rid of all non Skoda owners myself.

ooops.

Name and shame Chris.

Personally I think Skodas are rubbish and nasty, but I have no taste at all, so I have two:D

And I don't like anybody anyway, so bugger off you Jap Crap driver:rofl:

:orb_lol:

Brilliant

Hadn't noticed.

I'm a non Skoda owner and like other non Skoda owners of this site I do have experience of them and pass that on to the benefit of Skoda owners.

Skodas are not without their problems, it seems that the electronics and the technology lets them down. In my experience of Japanese cars they are less complex, the electronics are better and as a result they are more reliable.

Diversity should always be welcome

Even to admitting those unfortunate enough to own Hondas :P

The more the merrier I say (and that's before a drink  )

Live and let live. If they are abusive kick them off the same goes for a Skoda owner, if they are abusive get rid too. Let's have a nice productive environment for all

I currently drive a Saab. I have a Vrs on order and read threads on this forum to help make a decision on my next car. I found reading the threads to be very informative. I hate to think that I would not be welcome, merely because I don't yet drive a Skoda. This is one of the best forums I have come across. Professionaly compiled and full of mature content. Any new member should be made welcome and they would drop into the same controlling criteria as anyone else. Misbehave and the administrators have the power to tell them to 'sling their hook'!

I had a Cavalier when I joined - specifically for info.

It has gone on from there ( ).

If everyone was negative about non-Skoda owners there'd be a lot less members.

A lot less moderators too!

Chris

i'll make no comment , as i may have inadvertantly caused the problem in the first place

s0d it , i will comment , i have no problem with owners of none Skodas being members of the forum and contributing to it , as anonymouse said the more the merrier

I must admit, Im a Non-Skoda owner, and use the furom, not as much a cupranet (I have two seats) :(.. I know .... :(

but I find it both informative and useful

John.

I don't think I need nail my colours to the mast on this one either!

Steve

(Briskodian with the most diverse marque ownership record in the last 18 months? :rubchin: :))

There's been a rumbling of this issue before your RR post Ric, just so you know, and can now sleep a little easier at night ;)

Just read the thread in question - so there was only one person who wanted a Skoda only day? Well, everyone's entitled to their opinions!

Chris

I this a serious thread?

I'd imagine that there are quite a number of people on here who've never owned a Skoda but are members because:

Its a quality forum

Not all the contant is Skoda related

They have prior contact of VAG group cars

They have friends/family with Skoda's

I myself fall in to all four of those categories.

Hurrah for diversity ;)

I this a serious thread?

Aren't all threads serious?

Chris

I obviously need to find the thread in question that has precipitated this thread to be a serious thread. Any clues as to where I will find such a thread? :)

Last 3 or 4 pages of this thread ;)

Chris

Thanks Scooby Chris, it makes sense now,

as I wondered what had prompted this thread too.

As long as people make posts that are reasoned and reasonable,

it's good to have a variety of views & experience,

regardless of the brand of car they currently own.

I've never been to a rolling road day myself,

but I think, comparing a direct competitor seems fair,

as does the odd bit of Exotica.

For a static display at a show,

I'd of thought a single marque,

would be more appropriate.

But people should be encouraged to come up & say hi.

As for the social meets, be they pubs, or drives, all welcome.

I don't mind non Skoda owners attending meets as long as they're in a separate field or 50 paces behind.

They're all nobheads! Ban them.
