Storm Blue Scout

Thought you might be interested to see some more Scout pics.

Not bad for a courtesy car! Looks especially handsome from the rear, because the blue contrasts well with the lights and badging. Unfortunately, long term issues with Chelsea FC mean the car I am getting is flamenco RED...

Its also an Elegance, which I'm beginning to regret because my wife is beginning to love the Scout.

I kinda like the Scout but the vRS is much more to my taste.

Nice colour, don't think I've seen an Octy in that before. Good contrast with the wheels and trim

I admit that Scout does look good but I think I'm starting to tire of the whole black protective bits look. Is it just me?

It would be some fairly epic colour coding project!

They did some of the last shape AllRoads as fully colour coded; looked much better IMHO. I know what they're trying to do with the look, but to me it doesn't quite work. On a colour like this though, it does look better. Silver on the other hand :thumbdwn:

I have to say one of the many things making me think of ways to get the money for one of these things is the plastic mouldings, as they are.

After three years of farm tracks, fields and dirty, gritted winter roads the only place my Octavia has really picked up stone chip marks is round the wheel arches and along the sills, all places that would be protected by the Scout's mouldings.

If the mouldings were colour coded then you'd still get the protection, but the chip marks would be really obvious after a while where as a wee scuff in the black plastic wouldn't be noticeable at all.

It is designed with a bit of rough and tumble in mind afterall. If you don't need the benefit of the mouldings, raised clearance, 4wd and fore to aft under tray then just get a normal car......

Fair point and quite true:D ... which I guess is why we ended up with a normal 4x4 really... the wife wanted the 4x4 capability for her daily commute across the Pennines in bad weather but doesn't like the "off-roader" or "jeep" type look!

I'm not saying it looks bad... just that I, personally, am not overly keen and that I reckon darker colours are better.

Mines that colour, looks good !!

What I like about them is that that IMO they don't look too chunky.

Afterall they're only a gnats whisker taller then a normal 4x4 and that in turn is only a bit taller than a normal Octy.

This is my 3rd Octy 4x4, without the Scout bodykit most people didn't even clock that the others were 4x4.

With all the plastic bits, I've changed polish to one that claims to leave no white residue, always hate the white haze that seems to appear on the plastic a week after you've polished the paintwork !!!

Happy Scouting

I think the total ride height is something between 170-180mm, which isn't too shoddy for a crossbreed 4x4. The clearance on my old X-Trails was only 200mm, so not a lot of difference.

I saw a Polo scout the other day.

I know there are some mean speed humps around, but a POLO FFS!

those polo dunes are cool!:) got a nice look to em

The thing that gets me is that they went to all the trouble of doing the mouldings but forgot about mudflaps

I commute along some small roads that connect farms and they are full of mu at this time of year - it all end up up the car and along the sills, some if it is pretty gritty as well with the weather getting cold. Ohh please some mudflaps!

Dealer says no news or ideas on when they will be coming out

Apart from that, I love it! (and that is coming from 4 LR Discos!)

I'm getting a silver one. IMHO dark colours don't look right on a Scout. Not enough contrast between the body and the mouldings.

IMHO the Flamenco Red will be the best colour; with the red contrasting well with the dark grey body moulding.

I have a corrida red scout, had it two weeks now and I was a bit worried about getting it in that colour but now ive got it I think it looks very nice(when its clean), it definitely stands out, havent took any pics of it yet but heres one the same

Have you thought about colour coding the radiator grille; its worked really well on my vRS.

Seems cheaper new or used to buy a vRS than a Scout!!

I think the Scout is great.Looks tough and smart and I reckon it is tough. Not just show.

One of the best models on offer IMHO  (can't afford one though:rolleyes:)
