Reducing dive under braking...

Is this something you're afflicted with as a result of where you live/family/friends or as a part of your job?

My job does involve parking and driving on fields and verges, but not a great deal. Mainly a (bad) choice of hobbies.

But its probably not that bad, think I've only scraped the sump guard about 2 / 3 times in 9 months and at very slow speeds, but any lower (including 15mm from the eibachs) may increase this dramatically. Thats why I wanted to go stiffer  without lowering.

I do 'want my cake and to eat it' :D

Mort may be correct in identifying a coilover solution then. The main issue is how much you value the current ride quality. There's no doubt that coilover will result in a stiffer ride. Which is to be expected as you're trying to reduce dive and roll. With that you can't have it all, but that was where my combination of Eibach and Koni came in, with the FSD damper being able to adjust, and return some of that OEM ride quality.

But certainly with a coilover setup I think you could maintain standard height, while reducing dive. It's certainly not a usual setup for coilovers, but I see no reason for it not to work.

A Weitec setup would probably worth looking at, if you start down the coilover route. If you don't want to spend KW money, that is :)

Just a quick piont but lower centre of gravity means the car wont pitch as much, however if you live in speed bump land like i do then to go to low is dangerous to your sump! I had h+r coilovers on the octy vrs with no major issues,i believe that fsd/eibach is a great set-up on the furby though!

we can do a very tasty price for the fsd/eibach set-up as well please p.m if interested.....

Well I've just not long fitted a Bilstein handling kit which lowered the front 30mm and the rear 20mm from what the std 100tdi sat at (i measured the ride heights before and after ). The car looks really good now and on the whole is very nice to drive ,doesn't lift or dive on the front anymore . The only complaint I have is when I driving "briskly" on the "back roads"in my area ,on bad bumps it seems to bottom out on the damper/ bumpstops. I seriously thinking about taking off the H & R springs and trying the car on std VRS springs. If it wasn't for the fact that we'll need to use my 100 tdi to do the recce for the Tour of Mull rally and some road rallys later on in the year I'd probably leave them on. I'll probably fit the H & R's onto the SE for the wife .

I can't believe how well the Fabia handles after having had a 2.0 zetec Focus for 3 1/2 yrs,,,ok , I've fitted the handling kit , cupra wishbone bushes and a set of std Vrs wheels but its really a good handling car ! :)

Ft ride height 615mm - from w/arch to ground on std Vrs wheels n tyres

Rear " " 625mm " "
