A little advice

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have just put a pipercross panel filter into my Octy mk1. Although I am a little disappointed that it hasn't transformed the car into a fire breathing Porsche eating demon seed car. The car does seem to be a little smoother and doesn't seem to hesitate at about 2k rpm.

But I digress the point I need advice on is I now have the bit buying bug. Although I can't stretch to a full Miltek system just yet, I want to do thing's bit by bit starting off with the cheaper things. I am looking to get a new diverter valve next, I am fancying the APR one and wanted to know if these are easy enough to fit. Has anyone got one of these and have they had any issues? I don't want to start the whole diaphragm versus piston debate I just want to know if they are any good or not worth bothering with as the only bumpf you can get is from awesome or APR.

Secondly I have read about bypassing the N75 what-ja-ma- call-it, what are the benefits is it necessary and again easy to do.

Before any of that I am going to get a new MAF, I was going to get one off of the net as they were advertised at

Suspension and brakes first then the other mods, get it to handle correctly and you will be amazed at what you already have under the bonnet.

I here a rear ARB works wonders

You will not get much if any performance gains with a panel filter.

The best gain for the money is a remap:thumbup:

Like the others have said Arb is going to work very well

Panel by iself will do SFA. Defin the bottom of the airbox plus panel will give 2 or 3 bhp (as will as a CAI, but the CAI offers a better base for other mods).

Yeah i agree with Beretta! im going for a whiteline rear arb, and S3 lower brace for starters the remap can wait.

So far I have done the cheaper mods that you can do yourself.Whitline rear ARB, Green panel filter, Forge 007 valve, S3 Front strut brace. No noticable improvemnet in performance, but much better handling. When I can afford it I will probably get a remap.
