Once 'got' the wife to read the map just before we were about to hit a humpback bridge at 70mph in Renault 14 (very soft suspension).

When we'd stopped bouncing (about 5 miles down the road) I got what I imagine you did :D

16.4 was the average from 38.2 (in the space of about 3 mins:eek: ) actuall mpg from the constantly changing readout was around 11mpg
