Octy II vRS reverse sensor positions

Featured Replies

Glad you've had some success.

can anyone point me to a link to the aftermarket kit they have installed?

thanks

The OEM kit can be found on the Skoda accessories website.

Looking at a few in the car park, the non-VRS bumper does not have them in the strip if factory fitted, but pretty much the same as the pic of the VRS.

Ok, as promised, here's a little how-to for the parking sensors I've fitted. I'm pretty pleased with the result. Perhaps one down-side is that they're not completely flush like the OEM ones, so maybe pick up dirt a little quicker. Just keep them clean (and don't clog them up by waxing over them) - well worth doing for

At this point, you might like to test your sensors. Switch on the ignition (no need to start engine), and put the car in reverse. The beepers should make one tell-tale beep to indicate that they are functioning correctly.

I had some problems with sensitivity at first. (Hopefully you wont). This kit has no visible adjustment - unless you unscrew it! THIS WILL PROBABLY INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY! There's just two screws to undo. Inside you'll find adjustment screws for each sensor. If you need to adjust, plug in one sensor at a time, and carefully tweak the adjustment until it behaves itself!

Once you're happy with the sensors' function, tidy up the wiring with a few cable ties and stash any spare length of cable behind the carpet. Probably best to put a blob of sealant around the wires where they pass through the grommet(s) as well, to maintain the water seal.
