Any pics of black Mk1 with colour coded grill?

Featured Replies

I am thinking of colour coding the grill on my black magic Mk1 VRS but can`t make my mind up. I have seen a few colour coded grills on Mk2`s on here lately, and they look superb, any pics of the same on a Mk1 to help me decide?

It looks LOADS better in my opinion. There's no other silver/chrome on the car so it really sticks out.

I'm gonna get mine done if I can find a good price. How much should it cost? I got quoted

cost me 30 from a friend who works in a bodyshop. glad you like.

Is it just the grill sorround that has been painted or also the grill itself?

just popped the silver bit off, bought a new badge too as the old one had to come off to do it right.

Just the chrome grill needs painting.

I was thinking of getting that done, looks great so I may well do it :)

d'oh! shot mysen in the foot here! should of kept quiet or said it looks ugly, and not posted a pic now everyone wants em lol.

I've gone a slightly different way with mine and gone for the Milotec badgeless grill which I'm spraying up a the moment. Have seen photos of other peoples cars with these fitted and love them.

I'd prefer a badgeless grill but I don't want to spend lots on it. Last I looked they were around

Fraid so. It's a lot of money but does look good. There's cheaper ones on ebay but I'm not sure about the quality.

Here's mine, Milotec grill.

Apologies for the rubbish pic.

Here is a picture of mine with the Milotec front bumper grills also. I did not like them all when i got the car (they were already done when i bought it) but now i really like them all after parking next to a STD VRS at the weekend.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for that. Thats the same one I have and I have the badge from the Mk2 Octy VRS to fit.

Cool...i've tried mine badgeless, but it didn't look right at all.

Now settled for it where it's supposed to be.

just our of interest, for the lower grills I see you have to take out the lateral bar... does this leave a small hole in the bumper or is there a plug you but in its place?

Being 100% honest i'm not sure Mike. Both of these were fitted to the car when i bought it.

I'll pop out to the carpark later and have a look if you like and take some closer pics.

Not to worry. I'll ask RSD if I ever get round to doing it ;-) thanks anyway.

I much prefer the standard chrome part resprayed.

The miltoech grill and the ones on ebay make it look a little cheap in my opinion (no offence intended!).
