I used to have a Milotec grillle on my old Octy but swapped it for a OEM painted grille thusly;

OEM looks best IMO

I've seen standard silver painted and you can hardly tell TBH. I think Milotec would look good painted silver with the MK II badges.

The painting isn't unless you have some sort of training. The bolting on of the grille is really easy. Just screw it on to the front edge the bonnet. Just be careful not to tighten the side screws so much that the grille looks lop sided.

I was never a fan of the Milotec grille neither, I've fitted my O1 with the grille from Mattig:

If I was you I would go for the OEM grill and have it painted.

The reason I went for a badgeless grille was because I removed the badge on my trunk as well (no junk on my trunk )

Jeeez, many thanks for all the response/pics, I could`nt get to my PC for a while, and was quite amazed! I`m not a great fan of the Milotec item(sorry guys) But that MS design one is nice and subtle, but I am now thinking of getting the OE jobby sprayed looking at the pics, as many have said, no other chrome on the car, so the painted one looks just looks `right`
