what tyres to get

Featured Replies

Falken 452 I have on the octy (205/55/R16) grip really well in the wet, not sure which ones you ran dave, but I did hear the 451 were not to great in the wet.

It was the 452's. Personal taste I guess, and I do tend to "push on" a little :) I actually use Toyo 888s for the Summer - if we were to have a summer that is :)

If grip is your aim, you may find the Hankook RS-2 fits the bill. I have a set of these on the MR2 and the grip is good for a road tyre with normal driving. They get warm in the wet and work well. Push on hard in the dry and get some proper heat into them and they grip way harder than the Bridgestone RE040 I had on the car originally. Even just pottering about they provide good grip.

They also work well in the wet, soaking up full throttle in the MR2 in first.

Probably not quite as grippy as the Toyo 888 or Yoko A048, but in a similar class for pretty good money. I got mine form Camskill Performance:

HANKOOK TYRES / TRACKDAY TRACK DAY / HANKOOK RS2 Z 212 HANKOOK R S2 Z212 HANKOOK RS 2 - - Track Day Tyres - Trackday Tyres - Motorsport Tyres -

A very good tyre IMO well suited to a performance oriented driver.

I've ordered 2 205/50/17 93Y Falken FK452's and will get them fitted this Saturday :)
Thats not a bad price where's that from?

Ordered via blackcircles.com and fitted at a local garage.

I've also booked my 70k service at Skoda and was delighted to discover it costs only
