inside tyre wear

Featured Replies

Hi,all, new here so i thought i would post my first thread,

i have a couple of questions i hope you will be able to help me with,

I have a 2.0 tdi sport 6 months old ,11k on clock and ive just had to put new front tyres on as the inside edge was worn to metal on one an bald on the other,i had the tracking checked at the same time as when driving it felt like it was out,(not all the time:cool: ), they said it was out by only a small amount and that would not cause the wear any ideas????

second question is the stream radio in mine has a mind of its own and when the engine is switched off and then you turn it back on it starts off on something else,

EG turn off with multichanger selected , then turn back on starts on radio???

Also does it have to say mp3 next to stream for it to play them?

Cheers, Andy

Had similar problem with my VRS Octavia although it got to 18k. The garage reckons it could be speed humps wearing out the inside of the tyres! Hope this may be useful?

I swapped my tyres around at 10k, and there was completely even wear on them. I also have 18's and do use the odd speed ramp.

hi, same with me. Front tyres have worn on the inside edge @ 20K on my otavia VRS Mk2 ....

Yes you need a Stream MP3 to play MP3 disks.

I had a similar issue on my MK4 Ibiza, I found that it was due to the tyre pressures being incorrect. I found the guage on my footpump to be giving the wrong psi reading, so what I thought was the correct pressure wasn't. The tyres were subsequently under inflated, and this wore them out very quickly indeed. Worth a mention I felt. :)
