Fabia VRS on Octy VRS Rims

Featured Replies

Has anyone got a photo handy of a Fabia VRS running on Octy VRS 17" rims? If so could you paste a link / PM me etc as I'm trying to convince the missus that when we get a Fabia VRS for her, she can have my wheels and I can get some new ones!!!

Brilliant. Thanks

Stupidly enough, tyres for the 17's are cheaper than those for the 16's......

By quite a bit as well!

It's crazy isn't it.

Must be something to do with the 16's being a funny size. I remember when I asked Costco for a quote for some replacement Michies for mine a while back and they said they'd have to order them in.

Depends which size 17, though - 205/40/17 are cheaper yes, but I prefer the 215/40/17s :)

Steve

they look as sexual as hell!

I want!

I wouldn't go that far, but yes, they look good :P

:P They look much better than the standards...and they look easier to clean as well. Now, if only I can save the

Was quite happy with the fabia's 16s until I saw this, but Im guessing my fabia would look daft on these if I didn't change the springs for some shorter ones at the same time. Does anyone know how much the fabia in the picture has been lowered?

I'd take a stab at 25mm on eibach springs

Chowy's is on just Eibach springs and std dampers IIRC. Irf's is definitely on Eibachs and Koni FSD dampers, so may be slightly lower....

Steve

I'd found a set of the octy alloys but the tyres are 205/50s. Would I need to change the tyres to make my fabia happy?

Mine doesn't seem to be as low as cars with just Eibach springs. I think the FSD's are the cause but at least it's slightly lower than before and rides great too.

Yep, you'd need to change tyres. As mentioned, 205/40 or 215/40. 205/40 are nearer the original rolling radius of the std alloys, but some prefer to run a slightly wider tyre.

:iagree: - I'm sure my original Fab sat lower than the current one, and this one has FSDs where the first one just had std shocks.

Steve

Would the 50 profile just cause my speedo reading to be out or is there more to it ?

Not sure, never tried it. Would look odd though, for a start. And with that increase in sidewall height, you may get some rubbing.

Buy them, and then try them out! But I'd still advise changing them....

Steve

Sounds like the logic I'd usually apply to this kind of situation :D

Photos of a Black Magic Fabia vRS on 16" mk 1 Octavia vRS rims and lowered 25mm would be appreciated.

Thanks, in advance.

Still looking good mate  I've just had my ones fitted, and now looks strangely similar to yours ;)

I will also put some pics up later :D

Steve

i am gonna have to keep my eyes out for a set when I have the cash! unless someone wants a straight swap with some standard ones!!

How much are we lookin for a set of the Octy wheels. I want to change mine but i like the idea of keeping Skoda rims.
